[Bug 57959] Live-Cd: Resizing of NTFS-partition fails when not dismounted cleanly before - error-message missing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gparted Error: If the gparted-version on the live-cd is used to resize an ntfs- partition which was not unmounted cleanly before (e.g. power-loss from within a windows-session), the partition doesn't get resized. Unfortunately no error-message is shown, when gparted calls ntfsresize several times, and so the user thinks, all of the resizing-process worked fine. things to reproduce: * partition /dev/hda1 - ntfs-partition, windows system volume * start windows on /dev/hda1, let it crash (e.g. power loss) * boot with the live-cd of dapper and resize the partition /dev/hda1 from within gparted * all seems to work fine, but nothing happens to the partition, because ntfsresize reports an error due to the missing clean unmount which gparted doesn't recognize. Perhaps a newer version of gparted helps out, the version 0.1 included on the live-cd is already 1,5 years old. ** Affects: gparted (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Live-Cd: Resizing of NTFS-partition fails when not dismounted cleanly before - error-message missing https://launchpad.net/bugs/57959 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 57978] [Dapper] metacity does not all Citrix ICAclient (and others) go fullscreen
Public bug reported: On Dapper I try to use Citrix ICAclient for Windows remote desktop. I use version 9.15 (german) from this link. http://citrix.com/English/SS/downloads/details.asp?dID=2755downloadID=3323pID=186 When the application connects it wants to display the Windows desktop fullscreen, but the gnome-panels stay on top. Other reports of the same problem involve acroread and blender. Workarounds: i) activate auto-hide on the panels this is ok, but the remote desktop appears twice ii) activate fullscreen mode for this app by hand via a hot-key combination iii) replace metacity by sawfish This works fine, I get one instance of the remote desktop in fullscreen. I got the hint from http://gnomesupport.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11223 and this gnome bug report: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343115 The gnome bug report is for metacity 2.14.3 while dapper has 2.14.5. how do I debug gnome's nautilus syscalls? If I launch strace nautilus I only get the starting output, once nautilus is loaded there's no more output. I think the problems has to do with how nautilus is sending the password since it keeps asking for it until I get tired (so I assume it receiving a wrong password response from the server), but it's strange since I can ssh with the cli ssh client, so I'm a bit lost here... -- can't access my nokia 770's ssh server with nautilus https://launchpad.net/bugs/57819 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 56452] Re: Edgy: at-spi Crashes frequently
Since the behavior has been seemingly unpredictable, I took some time today trying to reliably reproduce it. Here's what I have come up with. Not sure if it helps 1. Boot 2. Launch Orca from the Applications menu 3. Quit Orca with Insert Q At this point Python crashes (attempted to get a backtrace -- attached). 90% of the time, At-spi-registryd does not immediately crash (no dialog; nothing appearing in /var/crash). The other 10% of the time it does. 4. Reboot at-spi-registryd crashes (log appears in /var/crash). I can reliably reproduce this on two machines. -- Edgy: at-spi Crashes frequently https://launchpad.net/bugs/56452 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

It was a symlinked libcdda.so, where can I get a working one? [Bug 57968] Re: best fit isn't default
Currently the default is whatever have been used last, more or less. It's a (minor) nuisance when you have PDF with very different page sizes. If you open a 100x100mm flyer zoom it at 400% and then try to open a 2600x950mm kakemono it doesn't work on a 32bits CPU. You can try to open evince with no file but then you can't change the zoom factor! So open a recent file, change the zoom, exit, and retry the big one For smaller sizes it works but it's very slow, evince can use more than 1.5GBytes of RAM very quickly. For me, whatever you want but not the last one used :) It's ok to keep it when opening a recent file though, as it's done now. Best fit may be the fastest. BTW adding the page size in properties would be great too. If there's no objection I could to do it, shouldn't be hard. -- best fit isn't default https://launchpad.net/bugs/57968 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
