[Bug 60345] Add to Panel... assumes and hard-codes font sizes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-accessibility-themes Ubuntu's Add to Panel... dialog hard-codes font sizes for launchers whose text label requires two lines at size 10. (Interestingly, if the Application font size is changed to a larger size while the dialog is open, it will apply it to all launcher text labels). For the text that does use the system font size correctly, the dialog assumes it is the same size as the hard-coded font size, and will only take up one line. See the attached screenshot. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open System Preferences Font Preferences. 2. Change Application font size to 16. 3. Close Dialog. 4. Right-click on panel and open Add to Panel... dialog box. ** Affects: gnome-themes (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Add to Panel... assumes and hard-codes font sizes https://launchpad.net/bugs/60345 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Okay, so basically: * Despite being the only acceptable IM app for GNOME, Gaim isn't a GNOME app, and therefore doesn't have to abide by GNOME's rules. * GNOME's got it all wrong, people should be able to size a window to any size they want. It's the same with Windows, Mac and KDE, so they must have it all wrong as well. * If a user can't find a window, or a feature in that window, because they sized it too small it's their fault, not the developers. [Bug 59882] Re: Access to remote SSH server does not distinguish the connection by port
Hi, Yes, you are true. There are ways to work around this by changing the network configuration. The problem with nautilus is that it seems not to identify an SSH connection by an address/port tuple. Even if the host identification has changed, it should not connect to a completely different port. Please note that the command line client still gives you a choice to log in with a private key. Using one, I simply get the following notification: Password authentication is disabled to avoid man-in-the-middle attacks. Keyboard-interactive authentication is disabled to avoid man-in-the-middle attacks. Enter passphrase for key 'XX': So I think using a private key, I should simply receive a notification from nautilus and then be able to connect. -- Access to remote SSH server does not distinguish the connection by port https://launchpad.net/bugs/59882 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 60378] Disk applet by default
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I've noticed that some people coming from windows have trouble removing USB devices and the like, because they don't quite know what to do to safely remove the device. They come from windows and they're used to look into the system tray to unmount removable. There's no way for them to know that they have to right-click the desktop icon, then navigate the options they're given until they find the secret (as in doesn't show on any other desktop icon) eject option. The drive applet offers a handy solution for those people, and remains unobstrusive because you don't even see it unless there's a device in, but you can access it anytime without having to show the desktop. So I think it would be a good thing to have it included on the panel by default. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Disk applet by default https://launchpad.net/bugs/60378 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
