[Bug 54741] Re: New windows stealing focus -- and passwords?

2006-09-29 Thread Thomas Folz-Donahue
Well actually, that depends. I would like modal dialogs to steal focus
from the application I'm working on even if focus follows mouse.

But other applications' dialogs shouldn't steal focus.

[Bug 62919] an option to do autoremove for ordinary remove

2006-09-29 Thread Vladimír Lapáček
Public bug reported:

It would be useful to have an option to say that I want to do autoremove

[Bug 54741] Re: New windows stealing focus -- and passwords?

2006-09-29 Thread jmspeex
Yes, that would make sense because if it's a modal dialog, you can't
type in the main application window anyway. That's the only case I see
where stealing the focus is OK, and it's not really stealing because
that's what a modal dialog does *by definition*.

The only question remaining is what would make sense when a new window
opens right where the mouse is currently located (assuming focus follows
mouse). My best guess would be to not give it focus until the mouse
moves.

[Bug 62933] Problem with evolution and passwords

2006-09-29 Thread David Prieto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Sometimes, when I start evolution I get this message:

http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/4983/pantallazodesbloquearanilloja1.png

I think it's how it's supposed to work, since after entering the
password I get access to my mail as soon as the program is open.

Some other times, however, I get this:

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/5287/pantallazointroduzcasucontraseaparafrandavid100gmailcmi0.png

Seems to happen randomly, and when it does I get the message every
single time I want to check my mail (or if I leave the program alone,
every certain minutes when evo tries to get new mail). This behavior is,
of course, erratic and should be fixed.

[Bug 62942] network-admin doesn't save getaway IP address [network-admin]

2006-09-29 Thread Pecisk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

It is Edgy with newest updates. I have two network cards, one via_rhine
(eth1), another one 3c59x (eth0). Only eth1 is active.

1. Open network-admin trough System = Administration = Networking
2. Fill requested password
3. Open Connections tab
4. Choose Ethernet Connection primary you have
5. Choose Properties
6. Fill IP address and IP subnet address and IP getaway address in dialog,
after choosing Manual in Configuration drop down menu.
7. Click OK, and Click Close in Networking Admin window
8. Changes should apply now, and all is in it's place, except getaway. It
doesn't get saved - as /etc/netoworking/interfaces shows so - and therefore it
doesn't get applied too, so no network connection.

[Bug 62966] appsgksusudo-mode key

2006-09-29 Thread bapoumba
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gconf-editor

I am reporting this bug on behalf of several users from the french
speaking ubuntu forum who just made clean dapper installs or dist-
upgrades.

Running apps needing root authentication from the gnome menu ie with
gksu (synaptic for example) brings an error message related to gksu-run-
helper and su : Authentication failure.

users are in adm and admin groups, nothing particular with sources.list,
locale, .Xauthority or .ICEauthority files.

gconf-editor shows lots of missing entries.
gconf-editor --get /apps/gksu/sudo-mode does not pop up the sudo-mode key panel.

Problem solved with :
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=1164346postcount=11
cd /usr/share/gconf/schemas
sudo gconf-schemas --register *.schemas

I cannot personnaly reproduce this bug (dapper clean install in july),
but it looks like many people cannot succed in getting graphical root
privilege due to ... what, some «smurk» in the install and even
resintall process.

[Bug 62971] Automatic search in url bar broken

2006-09-29 Thread Adam Lofts
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

In epiphany on dapper I could type in a search query, my inquisitive
and inspiring query hit enter and it would search this query on google.

Now, unless my query is only one word i get a dialog box stating that
The url is invalid. This is very annoying since i now have to move the
mouse to the drop down from the url bar and click search.

[Bug 62973] Rhythmbox is confused by two CD drives

2006-09-29 Thread crez
Public bug reported:

I have 2 optical drives. If I start rhythmbox and insert an audio cd in
say drive 1, rhythmbox will recognise the cd, find information and cover
art for it, but will refuse to play it (stop sign next to the track
name). Now if remove the CD from the drive and put it in the second
drive without restarting rhythmbox, I will be able to play the CD. It
does not matter whether I start by drive 1 or drive 2, rhythmbox always
refuse to play from the first drive I try. the machine is an hp pavilion
t480 running an up to date edgy.
