[Bug 76093] Nautilus crashes when launching home folder while nfs share is present on desktop.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus This crash has occurred on a regular basis. I'm usually running some java apps which makes my CPU peak at 20% CPU utilization. This problem occurs more often when filesystems are mounted and present on the desktop. NFS, NTFS, FAT32, or ISO9660. The problem occur when attempting to open the home folder from the desktop. Shortly after a single click of the folder, the app seems to almost be ready to generate to the screen, I hear the hard disk increase speed and see cpu usage percentage rise and nothing. Within the next 10 seconds i get a bug report applet, and nautilus respawns. Version of nautilus is: 2.16.1. Hi, The Gnumeric About box works fine now for me. However, I'm no longer using Dapper (amd64), I've updated to Edgy (amd64). The Gnumeric version I'm using is the edgy standard 1.7.0. Gnumeric in Dapper was really quite flaky for me, there were a number of weird issues. I mentioned the colour thing in the first bug report email, another thing was formulas not being executed - they would just appear as quoted text rather than as the calculated values I was expecting. [Bug 63547] Re: The cd burning dialog can be closed, and does not ask for confirmation
Ubuntu mostly ship upstream software, the same software than other distribution, and the same bugs too. You would have faced that same bug using fedora, suse, mandriva or debian when they shipped the same version of GNOME. Your claim about the number of bugs compared to other software isn't based on any fact and probably not true. Do you know of any software which has no bug? Do you think that people don't realize from the bug reports they get that their software has bugs and that they need to accept that fact? Fixing bugs take time and trying to explain to those guys they don't do a good job is not going to make them work harder to fix your problem. You should better try being constructive, make useful bug reports which make easier for people to fix bugs and send patches maybe, that is going to make the software better -- The cd burning dialog can be closed, and does not ask for confirmation https://launchpad.net/bugs/63547 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
