[Bug 78053] Smokey Blue theme is missing

2007-01-05 Thread tomás zerolo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-themes

Summary says all: the Smokey Blue theme seems to have disappeared for no
reason (in Dapper it was still there).

Package version is 2.16.1.1-0ubuntu1
It left a trace, though :-) In the package decription it's still there. Now I'd
rather prefer you re-include the theme in the package, but I'd at least know
why it has been removed.

Thanks

Interesting, its not listed by the interface - ah, because it has the

I'll disable it for now.

BTW, I chatted with upstream on IRC, they agree this is a bug, that the

I just tried again : installing icon-naming-utils, gnome-icon-theme and
evince_0.7.0 from your site. It installs evince
in /usr/local/bin/evince but this version still uses the same print

[Bug 78098] http_proxy defined incorrectly

2007-01-05 Thread Alex Mauer
Public bug reported:

If I set a socks proxy without setting an http proxy, gnome terminal
sessions still have the http_proxy environment variable set, but as
http://:8080;. Needless to say, this does not work.

Not only do programs not use the socks proxy as I request (not
surprising as adding socks support is not completely trivial), but they
also try to use an invalid http proxy when I didn't indicate that I
wanted one at all.

Presumably if the HTTP proxy section is left blank, then http_proxy
should be left unset.

[Bug 78113] gdm dies after logging out after using kde desktop (dapper)

2007-01-05 Thread Walter Tautz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Specifically I log in via a thin client, i.e., gdm is configured to listen on
xdmcp
and I do not run an X server on the local display of the machine.

I did the following: Install dapper/server 6.06.1 i386 arch and then proceeded
to install kubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-desktop packages.
I am running kernel 2.6.15-27-686

Problem: If I log into the kde desktop and log out gdm dies.

If one logs into gnome and out again gdm stays up and running
and continues to listen for xdmcp requests, i.e., it works.

[Bug 78035] Re: Gnome search can't delete file from search window

2007-01-05 Thread bryce
The files are named:

Nelly Furtado - Hey, Man%21.mp3
Nelly Furtado - Whoa Nelly%21 - 02 - On the Radio.mp3

I wonder if it's the %21 that's confusing the search program. %21 is
the character code for '!', which is an invalid character for UNIX
filenames. I wonder if gnome search is interpreting %21 as ! and thus
not finding the file?

[Bug 78156] no-click pixel on far right for applets

2007-01-05 Thread LordTureis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

On a panel, there is a one pixel wide area on the far right where an
applet can't seem to go. This is a poor usability design as, according
to Fitts' Law, the corner is _the_ place to be able to click if nowhere
else, because it requires no effort to find it. Just slam the mouse
toward it.

While there is nothing keeping people from slamming the mouse to a
corner, the dead pixel area means that any clicks are wasted and they
must meticulously move the cursor a mere 1 pixel to the left.

It needs to be easy to find the corner stuff, as people tend to put the
more used options there, be it the shut down button or the deskbar
button.

To reproduce:
1) Start up Ubuntu
2) Right click the panel Add to Panel
3) Add, say, 'Force Quit'
4) Move the force quit button all the way to the right.
5) Send your mouse flying toward that corner and click.

Nothing happens. Aggrevating after the 3rd time, let alone daily.
