Re: [Bug 14630] Re: Gdm theme Human with face list
I don't get what you're saying here. Are you saying that you'll make the design of the face browser as neutral as possible so that it'll fit in with any style? That's generally not the way to go if you're making default artwork. There is already a big enough inconsistency problem in Ubuntu as it is, due to the lack of official design documentation. Re: [Bug 78199] Re: evolution problems making a listserv
Thank you for responding to my report. I should have used contact list instead of listserv. Everyone I know uses listserv which may be a term from Outlook Express. Sorry for causing the confusion. When trying to setup a contact list, I have been successful in making short lists of 10 to 20 addresses where each is added individually or perhaps several at a time but the list I am working on now has 660 people and when copying and pasting that many it does not seem to create the whole list. Also, when creating the list it will show 4 of each person's name only one of which has the email address. The others have street addresses or no information about the person. There is only one card for each person In the contact list. I created the list from an Excel file which was converted to a .csv file and then imported to Evolution to setup the contact list. The steps to that I am following are: Select evolution contacts Select mailing list (Personal List or other created list) Select new contact list In contact list editor: Type name for List name Click on Select In Contact list Editor Click on an address and Ctrl A Click on Add Return to contact list editor: Left click add and ok I hope this helps to clarify. [Bug 78980] Re: hal-device-manager crash
Correct diagnosis. The distribution upgrade (not aptitude dist-upgrade) removed a bunch of python dependent packages (eg pybliographer) and then installed a bunch of 2.5 new packages and hal-device-manager now works. -- hal-device-manager crash https://launchpad.net/bugs/78980 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? It's not using 158M, that number counts the shared library used by the applet like GTK. Maybe you could get a valgrind log (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind) for the applet? ** Changed in: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- memory leak in weather applet https://launchpad.net/bugs/79414 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 79414] Re: memory leak in weather applet
Well yes, 9 MB of that is listed as shared, so it's only about 48MB unique resident. I'm using Edgy on this laptop. I'm not entirely sure how panel applets are launched, exactly. Can I just run valgrind gweather-applet on its own, or is there some panel applet harness I need to plug into? I HUPped the applet shortly after filing this, so if it's a matter of attaching to a running process it may need to wait another few days before the situation asserts itself again. -- memory leak in weather applet https://launchpad.net/bugs/79414 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 77466] Re: Evolution hang when click Send/Receive button
It's only the sending dialog that doesn't close, and usually not the first time it pops up. Actually, I can click the WM close button (the X) and close the window. It'll just popup and hang next time I click Send/Receive. No email can be sent until I shut down Evolution (which requires me to kill it). However, receiving email and all other Evolution functionality continues to work fine. -- Evolution hang when click Send/Receive button https://launchpad.net/bugs/77466 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
