[Bug 79559] xvimagesink/fglrx x1400 - Strange video colour hues
Public bug reported: Hello I've been getting a strange bug that has appeared since Dapper (I'm currently running Feisty) which involves the output colours of a video when played using xvimagesink. When using XV output in Mplayer and VLC there doesn't seem to be a problem. However both Totem and gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location=./videofile.avi ! avidemux ! xviddec ! ffmpegcolorspace ! videoscale method=1 ! xvimagesink return the same colour distortion. If ximagesink is selected in gstreamer-properties the picture is also fine. My hardware is a Toshiba Tecra A6 laptop with a Mobile Radeon X1400 video card using fglrx version 8.32.5, however this has occurred in all previous versions since Dapper. Curiously, I found that enabling XGL (not AIGLX) fixed the problem, however this isn't very practical. I will attach screenshots of the video output and my xorg.conf and xvinfo output. Hmm, fair point. I'm not totally convinced that all apps in the Science category match the Education category too, though. What do you suggest? As I see it, these are the options at the minute: * Modify all relevant .desktop files to include category 'Education' * Modify applications.menu so that Science packages go into the Education category in the Applications menu * Introduce a Science category to applications.menu * Do nothing, leave the packages split across 2-3 categories -- desktop files with Category=Science; don't show in the menus https://launchpad.net/bugs/47426 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, we are not able to fix and find the bug because your description of the bug didn't have enough information in it. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively, http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. [Bug 79576] Re: System Menu options dissapear
This happens because of a change in Gnome : Gnome now uses a Gnome Control Center. A link to it should appear in your System menu. Please reboot and see if it does appear.
