[Bug 91588] Re: gnumeric-gtk suggests gnumeric-plugins-extra but is removed by it
I was using Synaptic and what I found confusing is this: If you select gnumeric-gtk, under its 'Mark Suggested for Installation' you find gnumeric-plugin-extra. But when you select gnumeric-plugin- extra, gnumeric-gdk gets either unselected or removed for gnumeric. I guess this is not really a 'bug', but I found confusing that a package suggests another one that in turn requires to remove the former. Besides, as far as I can tell the description of gnumeric and gnumeric-gtk are identical. This also for a newbie like me can be confusing when trying to install gnumeric. Ralf, we should be able to detect the behavior you posit in comment#13. Could you try this test and report back, please? Open a terminal window Run lshal -m Press the keyboard power off key The command lshal -m monitors for important events and device property changes - the keycode event generated by pressing the poweroff button should appear there.
