[Bug 96265] Network connections stick to desktop

2007-03-26 Thread Vladimír Lapáček
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Using Feisty. When you create a new network connection, it is added to
the desktop. That is fine as far as you have only a few of them.

It would be nice to be able to organize them using folders. However, if
you try to move it to a folder, the connection icon resists. Menu Place
Network Places looks ok to me, though.

[Bug 96283] [apport] gnome-session crashed with SIGSEGV

On log in, desktop tries to load but then returns to the log in screen

temporarily solves the problem because it happens on the next log in.

[Bug 96274] Re: cannot run login configuration of gdm from the menu

Hello. It works fine on my system. Could you check a few settings
please? Open the menu editor and see that the login iten uses the
command 'gksu /usr/sbin/gdmsetup' and that that also works from the
command line (though I can't think why it shouldn't). When you run 'gksu
gdmsetup', do you get any output to the console?

[Bug 96129] Re: gnome-control-center not appearing in menu on edgy to feisty amd64 upgrade

2007-03-26 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
Hello. We decided that the control center was not quite ready for the
default install yet (as did gnome). We still have it installed as a
option but it does not appear on the menu (you can add it with the menu
config tool). It's true that this represents a minor upgrade issue, but
we are not planning to account for it since the control center was not a
supported package in Edgy, and so the upgrade is also not supported.

[Bug 96133] Re: nautilus relies on metacity to tell it how many desktops it should appear on

2007-03-26 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
We are likely to see changes in this area as we move to a compositing
window manager in the next 1-2 releases. Issues like this one will have
to be dealt with properly in that transition, and I doubt they will be
addressed separately from that.

[Bug 96257] Hibernate option should not show when swap not present

2007-03-26 Thread Eugenia Loli-Queru
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

My laptop has 2 GBs of RAM so I didn't bother creating a swap partition
or file (although I might do in the future). When swap is not present,
the gnome-shutdown panel should not offer the hibernate option because
hibernation is not possible without the presence of swap in the system.

[Bug 68617] Re: bashism in hal-system-lcd-get-brightness-linux

2007-03-26 Thread Wizo
I'm on a VAIO VGN-FS215M that use the module sony_acpi.

To make the brightness control work I've change the first line in:
  /usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-lcd-get-brightness-linux
  /usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-lcd-set-brightness-linux
from:
  #!/bin/sh
to:
  #!/bin/bash
and now the control work.
