[Bug 116912] Re: Free Space on Phone's SD Card Incorrect in Nautilus
I've made the above change, which seems to work at the GNOME-VFS level: import gnomevfs bda = '00:0E:ED:...' def free_space(path): ... uri = gnomevfs.URI('obex://[%s]%s' % (bda, path)) ... return gnomevfs.get_volume_free_space(uri) ... free_space('/') 4802560L free_space('/Images/') 4802560L free_space('/Memory%20card/') 26442752L However, I am still seeing 4.6MB free space when browsing Memory card in Nautilus, so there is probably something else I need to do to get it working in Nautilus. ** Changed in: gnome-vfs-obexftp (upstream) Status: Confirmed = In Progress -- Free Space on Phone's SD Card Incorrect in Nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/116912 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-vfs-obexftp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 116604] gnome-vfs is not well integrated
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When a remote location is mounted with the Connect to server... option, the location shows up in the open/save dialogs of a number of apps and it can be used just like the normal filesystem. However some applications (including GNOME programs) don't know about this connection, and files cannot be opened or saved (when doubleclicked in nautilus, errors occur). I quickly tested an ssh connection and got the following: real GNOME programs (totem, eog, gedit work fine) archive-manager: nothing happens, remote locations don't show up in open dialog evince: can open files, but not possible to save to remote locations tomboy: cannot export HTML notes other commonly used programs: openoffice: a username/password dialog is shown, but doesn't work with the correct data firefox: don't know how to handle ssh:// GIMP: cannot open This is very user-unfriendly. Maybe it's better to mount remote locations through FUSE so that all programs can work with these network connections? ** Affects: gnome-vfs2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- gnome-vfs is not well integrated https://bugs.beta.launchpad.net/bugs/116604 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 119448] All system files appear in trash applet
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hi, I'm using Feisty, with 2.6.20.16 kernel. Gnome-applets and Gnome- applets-data versions: 2.18.0-0ubuntu1 Without any obvious reasons, my trash applet shows files that really shouldn't be there: Few days ago, I emptied my trash bin through the trash applet. Before I noticed anything, 230Go of data were lost. That was the content, and only the content, of my external hard disk. I then reinstalled Feisty, only keeping my /home. It went fine for 24 hours or so. Today the same thing happened. I just put my cursor over the trash applet, and notice a huge amount of files. But this time, my WHOLE system is in there. So I tried to open the trash applet but it wouldn't, and I noticed that Nautilus was freezed. (killall nautilus didn't help). So I rebooted. If I have a look at the ./trash from my /home or another partition, there's nothing more in there that what should be, it looks fine, and I can empty it normally. Here is my post on Ubuntu forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=465004 And another video that might help: http://dl.free.fr/17A5S89d/trashmadness.avi Thanks, Alex. ps: first bug report, I guess you noticed. ** Affects: gnome-vfs2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Rejected ** Tags: applet trash -- All system files appear in trash applet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119448 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Glyn, thank you for your interest. What do you want to achieve by nominating the bugs for Ubuntu versions? [Bug 119774] allow the use authenticated smb shares without editing /ect/fstab
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have a SAMBA server for my home. I've setup shares that are guest- accessible, but are only writable by authenticated users. On a windows box, it shows a prompt asking for the password - if it is provided, the access is authenticated. If it isn't provided, it falls to the guest access. But, on a Ubuntu box, using nautilus to browse to network, it doesn't ask for the password, and there are no options on Gnome GUI to set the user/password to use when connecting to the share. The only way to access the shares with the proper permission is editing the /etc/fstab file, as said on the guide : https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MountWindowsSharesPermanently The expected is to have a prompt when connecting, asking the password or suggesting the use of guest account, or having a properties on the server, where one can set the username/password to use. ** Affects: gnome-vfs2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- allow the use authenticated smb shares without editing /ect/fstab https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119774 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
