[Bug 124713] Re: Totem-xine crashes when trying to play mp3 from network drive

2007-07-11 Thread Chris Foster
I can confirm this bug using a SMB share. Amarok for me works fine with
SMB shares however which uses xine to play media however it seems it
used to have problems as well as other xine based apps, ie Kaffine etc.

This appears to be a duplicate of a
href=https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xine-lib/+bug/32436;Bug
#32436/a as well.

[Bug 125205] [apport] totem crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-07-11 Thread jhellen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I fired up my computer and clicked the update-manager because there were
some updates available. Then it told me that it would be better to do a
smart-upgrade even if I had Feisty already with the latest updates. Then
some update couldn't be fetched and it started to report crashed from
almost every installed application even if they weren't running at the
moment. Can't tell you much else about this because everything happened
automagically.

[Bug 121754] Re: Evolution becomes unresponsive when password on server has changed.

2007-07-11 Thread Brendan Martens
I'm changing this to invalid I believe that is correct. I no longer
run Feisty which is the release I was in when I was getting this
problem. I've upgraded to Gutsy. In evolution 2.11.5 there are some
changes that should fix this problem (exchange folder scanning is
getting tuned), so I believe it's safe to close this as a fix is coming.

[Bug 125242] bad digest-uri using DIGEST-MD5 with POP

2007-07-11 Thread Juan Pablo Salazar Bertín
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Users are not able to use evolution with a cyrus pop mail server using
digest-md5 authentication.
When using DIGEST-MD5 authentication with a POP server, evolution sends a
digest-uri in the form pop3/host.
According to
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-siemborski-rfc1734bis-11.txt: 'The
service name specified by this protocol's profile of SASL is pop.'
I know it's still a draft, but some servers like cyrus check this and
authentication fails if something different than pop is used.

[Bug 125255] [gutsy] tooltips not pleced near the source in the menu

2007-07-11 Thread Nicolò Chieffo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel 1:2.19.5-0ubuntu2

It is very simple to reproduce:
Open the System menu go to preference and keep the mouse pointer over
Apparence. You will see that the tooltip Customize the look of the desktop
appears near Apparence. now move the mouse over another icon, for instance
keyboard. You will see that the keyboard tooltip appear in the same place of
the Apparence one, and immediately after the mouse pointer goes over keyboard.

Maybe the correct behavior is that when the pointer leaves the area that
was the source of the tooltip, the tooltip have to disappear

[Bug 36581] Re: gam_server consumes lots of cpu time

2007-07-11 Thread Daniel J Blueman
Logged into the gnome desktop with my homedir mounted from NFS,
gam_server is clocking up more and more processor time, and is the 3rd
highest cpu-time user (behind firefox and Xorg).

It's storms the NFS server with file and dir stat() calls, more than ~100,
every ~3 seconds...that's getting expensive!
I have no nautilus windows open, except (of course) the background desktop.

Let me know if you'd like any debugging. Distro is Ubuntu Feisty 7.04
and gamin is version 0.1.8-1ubuntu3 with 6 days of uptime.

[Bug 125242] Re: bad digest-uri using DIGEST-MD5 with POP

2007-07-11 Thread hggdh
Juan, could you please provide us with a debug run of one such
connection? Run as follows, from a terminal:

env CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution evo.log 21

Then try to connect to the server where you are having the issue. Then
please attach the log here.

Also, please note that the draft RFC you mention does *not* state a MUST
imperative for the phrase. I know, it is pedantic, but this may have an
impact here (since it is not _required_).

Also -- if possible -- please provide the version of the Cyrus server (I
did not know cyrus had a POP implementation...)

[Bug 92725] Re: gpg passphrase cached by evolution

2007-07-11 Thread hggdh
neither am I, neither am I... but it does look like -- at least on Gutsy
-- integration between Evolution and GPG is being performed by seahorse,
and this problem does not surface.

That is, as long as you do deploy seahorse.

Anyway, I am unsure the same would happen on KDE -- do not remember my
KDE days :-( -- so I am keeping this open.

[Bug 125242] Re: bad digest-uri using DIGEST-MD5 with POP

2007-07-11 Thread Juan Pablo Salazar Bertín
Log attached.

I found this when trying to connect against a CentOS 4 server (Cyrus
POP3 v2.2.12-Invoca-RPM-2.2.12-8.1.RHEL4), and confirmed against cyrus
in feisty:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ aptitude -F %p %V search ~icyrus

cyrus-sasl2-doc 2.1.22.dfs
libcyrus-imap-perl22 2.2.13-10u

From cyrus digest-md5 plugin source code (stable version 2.1.19), where
sparams-service = pop:

/* Verify digest-uri format:

/* make sure it's the service that we're expecting */
service_len = strlen(sparams-service);

[Bug 125281] evolution often crashes when looking up address book via exchange.

2007-07-11 Thread James Lamb
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When I type in email addresses or start to the LDAP/Exchange look up
starts to occur. At this point in time the client hangs and will often
either crash or take a very long time to run the query. I have limited
the amount of GAL entries down to see if that helps and in each instance
it has done little to resolve the problem. I have checked to see if
there are any problems with the exchange/ldap tree and in each case I
haev been unable to find any problems from outlook or using other
command line ldap tools.

[Bug 41623] Re: Firefox windows do not get focus when launched

David what version of firefox were you not able to reproduce this, referring

now you are able to reproduce this?.I am still unable to reproduce this with

I don't know, whichever version was on the official repos at the time I
made that comment. The point is that I can reproduce it again with
2.0.0.4 on Feisty, still following the simple steps of the original bug
report.

[Bug 125340] Multiple mouses don't work with multiple users

2007-07-11 Thread Mertiki
Public bug reported:

This bug has been tested on two different laptop.

The first one was a 5 years old IBM laptop on Feisty with two built-in mouses.
The second was a Dell inspiron 9300 laptop on Gutsy with one built-in mouse and
a USB wireless mouse.

When accessing the Desktop of an other user through Change User , one
mouse will completely stop working.

Steps to reproduce the bugs are :

1. Have two mouses.
2. Open a session
3. Click the change user button to open another session without closing the
actual session.
4. Open another session

Eh voila, one of the two mouse isn't working anymore. If you go back to
the first user Desktop, the second mouse will suddenly works again. It's
pretty bad on a laptop with two built-in mouses because the most used
mouse always stop to work.

Is it possible that Xorg or another component just handle one mouse for
ALL users? The other mouse could belong to the user itself and can't be
used by another user as long as the session of that user isn't closed?
It sounds like that.

[Bug 125242] Re: bad digest-uri using DIGEST-MD5 with POP

2007-07-11 Thread hggdh
OK. I will work on the upstream bug. This seems like a very simple fix,
just changing the service name string. Nevertheless, please be aware the
fix will percolate slowly to a new release, so you may want to consider
the options of building the library as an interim fix (if this is a
critical issue for you).

[Bug 125255] Re: [gutsy] tooltips not pleced near the source in the menu

2007-07-11 Thread Xeno Campanoli
I am seeing this too. The tooltip for subsequent pulldown selections
displays at the location of the first tooltip you evoke. I tried the
Appearance option Nicolo suggested and it works as he says.

I'm attaching an email written in Evolution and another one in

As you can see, the header lines are the same ones I posted on my
original message.

Let me know if that helps of if you need more information.

[Bug 61211] Re: Your audio capture settings are invalid. Please correct them in the Multimedia settings. is a really unhelpful error message

2007-07-11 Thread apjjr
I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 and there is nothing called Multimedia settings.
Furthermore, why shouldn't it tell me exactly what it considers
invalid. I can't get it to record anything. It's a useless program for
me. I have no idea what to set to what to get it to work. I follow the
instructions and click File-New and get this insane message. How am I
supposed to know what is invalid? A good idea, but needs work. -
