2007-11-22 Thread Julien Thomas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

SInce a few days, nautilus repeatedly crash when videos are on the current
folder processed by it.
I beliew that this as something to do with the video previewing, so the title.

I got also a strange bug in apport.log, see the information below. I do not
assure that this has to do something with it, but
I think it is.

[Bug 164454] Browsing nokia e65 buggy

2007-11-22 Thread Anders Østerholt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-vfs-obexftp

When browsing the phone it sometimes manages to go through c: data and a
few more. At some point the opening of a new directory stops working and
directories are displayed as blank files.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the bluetooth connection in the phones
bluetooth menu seems to fix it for a while.

Seems to be browsing that is broken, while file transfer works fine.

[Bug 146946] Re: [gutsy] Gnome settings daemon does randomly not work

2007-11-22 Thread thorwil
On my first Gutsy installation, I had this bug appearing once in a while
since some time. On another fresh installation, the first time I saw it
was right after I enabled remembering running applications in the
Session preferences.

So far I thought the only problem with that setting and Compiz would be
Compit putting all windows on the first workspace the next time you log
in. But now I have to wonder if this the cause for the gnome-settings-
daemon startup problem? Although this wouldn't answer why it happens
randomly.

I can see mine are mp3 just by looking at the properties of one of the

when I delete those files from the ipod and look in my Trash, they are

[Bug 162000] Re: Cannot use Ctrl-Tab as keyboard shortcut in gnome-terminal

2007-11-22 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thanks for your report, that's known upstream:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123994

comment from upstream:

There are a couple of keys which are not candidates to be keyboard
accelerators, independently of the modifiers. Tab is one of those
keys, as it (with various combinations of modifiers) are reserved by
gtk for its own use and the window manager.

Note that validity is decided by calling gtk_accelerator_valid, but
the list of valid accelerator keys seems to be only in the source
(which you can find at
http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/gtk+/gtk/gtkaccelgroup.c#790, in case
you feel like it)

[Bug 164496] davs can't find folder with spaces in the uri (hosted on sharepoint 2003)

2007-11-22 Thread armo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Ubuntu 7.10, Nautilus 2.20.0

When connecting to a secure WebDAV directory hosted on Windows Sharepoint 2003
all directories are listed, including those with spaces in the name. When
trying to open a directory that contains a space in the directory name I
receive an error:
---
Couldn't find davs://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/8554043/School%20Staff.
Please check the spelling and try again.
---
The directory then disappears from the root directory listing but on a refresh
it reappears.

I have tried recreating the error on a standard IIS web folder but the
issue seems to be specific to Sharepoint. However, I can access the
folder on sharepoint using windows explorer.

[Bug 162000] Re: Cannot use Ctrl-Tab as keyboard shortcut in gnome-terminal

2007-11-22 Thread Mikael Ståldal
I posted this comment upstream:

I think that is a serious limitiation to not be able to use Ctrl-Tab as a
keyboard shortcut in Gnome applications.

Elsewhere, it is a convention to use Ctrl-Tab to switch between tabs/subwindows
within an application. You use this in e.g. Mozilla Firefox, and I successfully
configured Eclipse for this behaviour.

Since you use Alt-Tab to switch between applications, it's quite convenient to
be able to use Ctrl-Tab to swtich tab/subwindow within an application.

Can you please attach your X server configuration file located in

version IIRC) don't have this.

Giving bonus points for getting a Tetris (4 lines at once) is however,
absolutely standard behaviour for the game.

2007-11-22 Thread linux-junkie
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 96727 ***

I have tried to create my own custom menu, and every time I try and move
an item to a new folder or different area in the menu area, it will not
go. What's up with that. I should be able to have my menu set up the way
I want, right? Any ways I was trying to move (copies) one of the items
to a New folder called Burning which was off of my Sound Video folder
and it crashed. Using Xubuntu 7.10 Desktop AMD-64 with Gnome Interface.

[Bug 164490] Re: cc-license-viewer markup error

2007-11-22 Thread Basilio Kublik
i suspect that this isn't the plugin shipped in the ubuntu package due
his location, you could try to move away those files and see if it's
works, i mean move away the /home/runar/.gnome2/epiphany/extensions/cc-
license-viewer.*, backing up first, just in case.

the plugin shipped with epiphany-extensions should be located at
/usr/lib/epiphany/2.20/extensions/, please do not overwrite the files in
this location with those located at /home/runar/...

[Bug 139639] Re: Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games

2007-11-22 Thread Frederik Elwert
Yes, PySol is somewhat a replacement for Aisleriot. Plus, it's iterface,
since pure Python, uses TkInter, which makes it not fit very good in the
GNOME desktop.

But I'd agree that PySol has really some advantages in usability when
compared to Aisleriot. E.g., when you finished a game, Aisleriot only
gives you the options to either quit or start a new game. What if the
user wants to have a look at his statistics, but not start a now game?
And PySol can move all cards to the piles by itself, so you don't have
to doubleclick the whole bunch of cards when you already have won.

But I'd suggest that it would be better to split this into feature
requests for Aisleriot, so that they can implement the functions of
PySol that really make a better user experience.

[Bug 148326] Re: invest-applet crashed with ValueError in on_quotes_open()

2007-11-22 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
thanks jasbur, but dealing with crash files manually attached to the
reports is a lot of extra work for the team, could you use apport to
send your bug? You just have to go to /var/crash using nautilus and
double click on that crash file, and probably isn't the same bug as this
one. thanks.

David if this is still an issue can you tell us a few steps to trigger
the bug? because the invest applet works just fine here and you seems to
be the only person with this problem. thanks.

 Hello Jean.martin

Once again thaks for your time. This appears to be a problem with Xorg,
but to know for sure more information is needed.

Can you please attach your X server configuration file located in
(/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the
bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the
Attachment: box below. Could you please also try to run without any
/etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card?
Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file from this attempt.
 Thanks in advance.

[Bug 164540] Nautilus: file properties screwed up

2007-11-22 Thread Marc K.
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I was copying some MP3 files from a USB attached hard-disk to my local
hard-disk /home/marc/Music. The hard-disk is VFAT formatted. All the
copied files have the executable flag on (which is wrong but not the bug
I am referring now). I decided to correct the file permissions the old
fashion way via a terminal thus chmod 666 /home/foo/Music/*. It worked
fine so I copied some more files and perform some more chmod.

Suddenly, all file properties, except the names, in all subdirectories were
screwed up.
Permission ?, Date Mofied ?, Owner ?, Group ?. For example:
foo.mp3 ? ? ? ?
bar.mp3 ? ? ? ?

I was completely shocked. I was no longer able to edit the file
properties nor delete any of them nor the directories via Nautilus, even
after a cold reboot. Jumping into a terminal and perform ls has the same
result.

The only thing I could do was a sudo rm (via terminal) on all
directories, then copy the files all over again. This time I modified
the permissions using Nautilus GUI, i.e. select all the files (not
including the directories), right-click on properties, etc. Now all is
well.

Additional information:
- Linux 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686
- Gutsy Gibbon (Ubuntu 7.10) fresh install with all latest updates
- Motherboard ASUS P5LD2-X with Intel Core Duo @2GHz

I am not trying to reproduce this bug. Not this kind of bug. It scares
the hell out of me since I have a lot of coding in my home directory.

Please let me know if you need more information.
Thanks.

Re: [Bug 139639] Re: Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games

2007-11-22 Thread ubuntu4fun
Are there any Montana type games in Aisleriot?

The ones from PySol are my favourite. I know that due to the Montana type
games PySol is still popular, despite being oldish.

Is it possible to include some PySol games into Aisleriot?

PySol is also OpenSource software distributed under the terms of the
GPL.

2007/11/22, Frederik Elwert [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

Also, Nautilus doesnt remember the widths of the columns if theyre
changed. When you close and reopen Nautilus window, the columns revert
to their original widths. Happens every time.

And after 8 months, and all of these patches. This problem still is
evident if Gutsy:(.

For crying out loud, can this get address, or are we waiting another 6
months for this to show up in the LTR?
