[Bug 146946] Re: [gutsy] Gnome settings daemon does randomly not work
On my first Gutsy installation, I had this bug appearing once in a while since some time. On another fresh installation, the first time I saw it was right after I enabled remembering running applications in the Session preferences. So far I thought the only problem with that setting and Compiz would be Compit putting all windows on the first workspace the next time you log in. But now I have to wonder if this the cause for the gnome-settings- daemon startup problem? [Bug 162000] Re: Cannot use Ctrl-Tab as keyboard shortcut in gnome-terminal
I posted this comment upstream: I think that is a serious limitiation to not be able to use Ctrl-Tab as a keyboard shortcut in Gnome applications. Elsewhere, it is a convention to use Ctrl-Tab to switch between tabs/subwindows within an application. You use this in e.g. Mozilla Firefox, and I successfully configured Eclipse for this behaviour. [Bug 139639] Re: Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games
Yes, PySol is somewhat a replacement for Aisleriot. Plus, it's iterface, since pure Python, uses TkInter, which makes it not fit very good in the GNOME desktop. But I'd agree that PySol has really some advantages in usability when compared to Aisleriot. E.g., when you finished a game, Aisleriot only gives you the options to either quit or start a new game. What if the user wants to have a look at his statistics, but not start a now game? And PySol can move all cards to the piles by itself, so you don't have to doubleclick the whole bunch of cards when you already have won. But I'd suggest that it would be better to split this into feature requests for Aisleriot, so that they can implement the functions of PySol that really make a better user experience. -- Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-games in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Hi Mike Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please look at /var/crash/ if you have a .crash file related to this , open it and follow the instructions to create an apport report, if you don't have such file please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at [WWW] http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem. [Bug 164540] Nautilus: file properties screwed up
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I was copying some MP3 files from a USB attached hard-disk to my local hard-disk /home/marc/Music. The hard-disk is VFAT formatted. All the copied files have the executable flag on (which is wrong but not the bug I am referring now). I decided to correct the file permissions the old fashion way via a terminal thus chmod 666 /home/foo/Music/*. It worked fine so I copied some more files and perform some more chmod. Suddenly, all file properties, except the names, in all subdirectories were screwed up. Permission ?, Date Mofied ?, Owner ?, Group ?. For example: foo.mp3 ? ? ? ? bar.mp3 ? ? ? ? I was completely shocked. I was no longer able to edit the file properties nor delete any of them nor the directories via Nautilus, even after a cold reboot. Jumping into a terminal and perform ls has the same result. The only thing I could do was a sudo rm (via terminal) on all directories, then copy the files all over again. This time I modified the permissions using Nautilus GUI, i.e. select all the files (not including the directories), right-click on properties, etc. Now all is well. Additional information: - Linux 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 - Gutsy Gibbon (Ubuntu 7.10) fresh install with all latest updates - Motherboard ASUS P5LD2-X with Intel Core Duo @2GHz I am not trying to reproduce this bug. Re: [Bug 139639] Re: Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games
Are there any Montana type games in Aisleriot? The ones from PySol are my favourite. I know that due to the Montana type games PySol is still popular, despite being oldish. Is it possible to include some PySol games into Aisleriot? PySol is also OpenSource software distributed under the terms of the GPL. 2007/11/22, Frederik Elwert [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Yes, PySol is somewhat a replacement for Aisleriot. -- Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139639 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- Add PySol to Ubuntu Gnome Games https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-games in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
