[Bug 172997] Errors encountered in play list
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem I have 125 songs in a play list, all .m4a format. The player sometimes will fail to play one or another song, with no indication of what the error was. This happens when I make up a new list, or change the order of a list that formerly played ok. I can find nothing wrong with the file name, and I can play the file by itself. I move the offending song name to a different place in the list and then it plays, although another song might fail to play after such a move. LEVIS, Upstream has reopened the bug. I suspect eventually we'll end up with the ability to enter a null password for the keyring. As for the gnome-screensaver problem... yes I agree. Gnome screen saver needs to properly use PAM to generate it's password prompts (or lack of password prompts). If it is not doing so, a bug should be filed against it or the related PAM module. [Bug 172469] Re: Feature Request: Fullscreen view does not consider Fitts' law
Unfortunately I cannot find an easy way of printing a screenshot while maintaining the mouse pointer on the screen and/or the highlighted region. When I try using the PrtScr key, the cursor changes and the previously highlighted button loses the focus. Actually, it's quite simple to reproduce it: while in full screen mode, mouse the mouse to the upper right corner (the very last pixel). Try clicking, and you'll notice the button won't be activated. Then move one pixel left and one pixel down, and the button will be highlighted, indicating it can be activated. The Close button here is not the best example, but the previous/next page buttons are more frequently used and would benefit from this as well. What seems to be a design feature to prevent accidental clicks, is actually a design flaw, since it slows down users, according to Fitts' law. It's very subtle and most developers believe this is just not important, but considering it's relatively easy to change it's a detail that adds up to the quality of the interface. -- Feature Request: Fullscreen view does not consider Fitts' law https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172469 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[partiatly solved] Found a mixer setting that worked: 1) open gnome-volume-control (in a terminal i guess; can't find it in menus) 2) Edit - Preference , and check all the unchecked box 3) Make sure there is no item with it's volume at zero, or an icon barred by a red cross, including capture mux (in playback) and capture in recording. 4) test with sound recorder; if there is a problem, go back to gnome-volume-control, in the option tab, and change the input source (for me the right one was mic). Test for every input source. I think that is fairly fool proof and should tell beginner what tinkering with the mixer means.
