[Bug 182238] Problems: Ripping of Audio CDs to a network drive
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sound-juicer Hi, While ripping of an audio CD to a local directory works fine, the program (soundjuice 2.20.1) cannot rip to a network drive which can be selected in the file selector. It produces an error message: invalid parameter. I don't know if it has something to do with the access privileges of the network drive although I can create new files in the destination directory. This is the destination I want to rip my CDs to (as shown in sound juicer): /Media/audo/mp3, fsg Currently I have to create the files in a local directory an copy the data afterwards to the desired location. A solution would be highly appreciated or is there a way to further investigate the problem by myself? Best regards, Udo Eisenbarth. [Bug 174088] Re: gnome-panel hangs
I installed the gnome-panel-dbgsym package, and got this backtrace when I set the preferences on the gnome-panel to show windows from all workspaces. Will this bug be fixed in the next version of Ubuntu? In gutsy it is still present. [Bug 182253] Re: Evolution Mail crashes on Calendars
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 158870] Re: Pause doesn't release sound interface for use by other apps
Running Hardy now. Rhythmbox still isn't entirely releasing the sound interface. I have two audio outputs available on my laptop. One is an external USB sound device, my prefered audio output. Rhythmbox uses this okay. The other output is the built in speakers, which I'd rather not use at all. Example of what I'm still experiencing: * play audio through flash applet in browser - sound comes through USB device correctly * close browser (or in firefox at least the tab that contained the flash applet) * launch rhythmbox and play - sound comes through USB device correctly * 'pause' rhythmbox * play audio through flash applet in browser - sound comes through built in speakers - wrong -- Pause doesn't release sound interface for use by other apps https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158870 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks to Benjamin Drung for the workaround ! It worked fine for me : that damned annoying thing I've had for maybe 4 months has at last gone away ! In response to Paul Hambleton's question, at least one member of the French Ubuntu forum has lost all his incoming mail because he did not remove them from the Inbox ! ** NdT : Par exemple Brouillons. [Bug 139368] Re: [gutsy] gconfd starts with session, but apps say that gconfd can't be contacted and user settings are not loaded
I seem to have exactly the same problem. It used to occur sporadically, now I get it on almost every log-in. Logging out and in again sometimes fixes it. This also effects the keyboard layout settings, and they can't be changed back. By now I know where all the keys are on the US layout, but it's still mildly annoying. I see this is a 'new' bug, but I've already had this on Edgy. It only recently started to happen frequently. Adding the sleep section to dbus seems to help. I will report back if it happens again. The error message in Gnome is: There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in. -- [gutsy] gconfd starts with session, but apps say that gconfd can't be contacted and user settings are not loaded https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139368 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gconf2 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
