Re: [Bug 194979] Re: Home Folder keyboard shortcut does not work
Ah yes, I forgot to mention I'm using Intrepid without compiz. The bug doesn't appear for me in that case. I agree that having multiple places where keyboard shortcuts are defined is a bit confusing and I have no idea which shortcuts are prioritary (maybe there isn't any priority and it does expo + nautilus at the same time ^^). On 9/19/08, dlstyley [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Solution 1 didn't work for me (that's the bug - mapping Home Folder has no effect) Solution 2 did work for me, but had a little trouble - maybe just restarting X would have worked first try, but I got myself off in the weeds. While I was messing with this, I noticed that Compiz sets Win+E to Expo by default. In addition to this being broken in the Keyboard Shortcuts config dialog (it just said E for the Expo key), it brought up another issue - wouldn't Metacity and Compiz keyboard shortcuts potentially conflict with Keyboard Shortcuts and really confuse a user on what takes precedence. Seems like there may be some integration issues that need to be worked out there. Anyway, sorry for getting off track. [Bug 216702] Re: totem sends surround sound to wrong channels
I've just been playing around on alpha 6 live cd, unfortunately, however, I can't even test this since I havn't been able to configure pulseaudio for surround sound without restarting (which would then remove all settings of course) Another bug (#260675) makes installing it impractical at the moment. However, some more testing on hardy has revealed that it's probably more to do with pulseaudio, or further down the chain - I'm not sure why I didn't notice that before. pavucontrol also controls the wrong channels, while the volume control from volume- control-applet controls the right ones... I guess this means it really needs to be tested further and possibly a bug filed against the appropriate package. On a side note, it should probably be easier to setup / enable surround sound in pulseaudio than having to edit config files... :( My current workaround is to just plug the rear speakers plug into the center / LFE socket and vice versa, which is fine for me as long as I don't boot into vista too often (which does recognise all the channels correctly) -- totem sends surround sound to wrong channels https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216702 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 272055] [NEW] totem starts with a playlist full of garbage files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem First of all: I'm not using GNOME, but just an X session with compiz. When I launch totem, the player comes up with a playlist full of all the files from all subdirectories of my home dir (also hidden ones). I expect TOTEM not load any file in the playlist at startup, or at least load those from last run, even if TOTEM is used from outside GNOME desktop environment... Questions: 1) Can I controll TOTEM playlist to DO NOT load anything at startup or load files from a specific directory? 2) What do I miss in launching TOTEM from a simple desktop environment such as a clean X with a windowmanager? Unchecking the setting was a really bad idea for me. After doing a suspend to memory and then a resume my screens were entirely white with a mouse cursor instead of a password dialog.
