[Bug 254785] Re: I cannot close evolution during email download
@Sebastien, if Hardy users have a bug they don't mind if it's fixed in next distro release. A bug in Hardy fixed in Intrepid remains a bug and Ubuntu is responsible for this, as sayd by Mark Shuttleworth, in his blog, on Friday, June 27th, 2008 (Ubuntu’s role in bug management for the whole free software stack). If backports are not scheduled, I think the only solution is to port fixed f-spot (but in general fixed packages) in Hardy too and until then I find a mistake to close a bug that isn't fixed in Hardy that, what's more, is out from just 6 months and it's a LTS release. -- I cannot close evolution during email download https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254785 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 254785] Re: I cannot close evolution during email download
Excuse me for mentioning f-spot. Obviously I meant evolution (I reported a comment on a f-spot bug some seconds before :-)) I think if we want that the user should always run after to the last release this is the right way (but is this our real target?), but then, please, let's drop the word support for 12 months, or 18 months, etc etc. Let's drop LTS. If users install Ubuntu Hardy LTS, and perhaps they buy support from Ubuntu, and perhaps they use it in a business environment, they don't mind the last release. We cannot say to them (after only 6 months from the Hardy came out) if you want a fixed package you have to install Intrepid. We can say this if users should use addictional functionalities but not if he demands a bug fix. If we haven't the manpower to backport all the fix into the current stable release ...well... then we have to realize of this and perhaps changing some things (different scheduling releases, concentrating our efforts in bug fixing, etc. etc). At last you have definitely more experience in Ubuntu (I have been a Ubuntu user for only 6 months) and more karma than me: if you think that the things have to go in this way the bug is fixed. -- I cannot close evolution during email download https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254785 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Ah yes, I forgot to remove the autom4te.cache directory - that's an oversight on my part. The md5sum's probably don't match because the upstream tarball is tar.bz2, and I converted it to tar.gz.
