[Bug 292498] [NEW] power icon will not change status when pulling the plug
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager The version of Ubuntu I'm using is 8.10 Intrepid. The package (that has the bug) that I'm using is 2.24.0-0ubuntu8. My laptop is HP Compaq Presario V5000. The package that I found the bug is gnome-power-manager. The icon is part of Notification Area 2.24.1 of the panel. I expected that when I pull the charger, the icon will change status in a second. What happened instead is that it takes 10 or more seconds to change the status of my computer that it is running on AC power or a battery. When take the charger out, it will not change status until 10 or more seconds. When I plug it back to the laptop, it does the same thing. For example smb://localhost 2: add a nautilus bookmark to that location 3: open the new bookmark trough the gnome places menu (also drag the new icon on the panel and launch it from there to get the same result) result: An error message about the impossibility of opening the position and no application registered to handle that file. expected result, as it was in Hardy: a nautilus windows as in step 1 to reproduce. what works: opening the bookmark from the bookmarks menu in nautilus, bookmarking a share on a host (e.g. smb://localhost/share) opening the same URI from the command line (e.g nautilus smb://localhost) As a side note, I keep not understanding why gnome-panel must use an internal format for some launchers like logout and those in places. [Bug 292554] Re: intrepid: nautilus ftp transfer crashes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. You get the project menu. 2 - Click on video project. 3 - Close Brasero and open it again. You get the project menu again, which is good. But: 1 - Open apps → audio and video → brasero. You get the project menu. 2 - Click on video project. 3 - Add a video file to the project. 3 - Close Brasero and open it again. [Bug 292574] [NEW] Totem flickers
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem When on full screen, the movie played by totem flickers! Also... the subtitle is desynchronized with the movie/sound, i.e. there is a delay between what was said in the movie and what line from subtitle is displayed. Totem was always shitty! I was never able to play a single movie with a subtitle in Ubuntu's shitty totem! Why do I always have to search through a lot of forums to find a solution? Is Ubuntu some problems collection? I always use in W*ndows mplayer and it's MPUI Gui and i never had a single problem! Why, on Earh, a Linux, open source app works so damn good in that shitty Wind*ws? [Bug 274630] Re: GDM crashes after restart
I have not posted for a while because I was waiting for the release. I have just put the 8.10 release live cd in the drive and started the installer and it has done the same thing. Obviously the installer does not use the gdm, instead just an application in X so I think we can presume the bug is actually in X. [Bug 292508] Re: baobab fails to start, segmentation fault
