Rob, The AutoAddDevices OFF workaround works as you tell: 1. Fix the repeat delay problem for the left, down end keys. 2. Fix the repeat speed problem (the keys seems to be faster when you press and hold down any of them). 3. However (sadly) the multimedia keys no longer works. The diskstation is my file server. The server name on the network is diskstation. The diskstation is not displayed, in network:/// or smb:/// on nautilus. If I enter smb://diskstation/ the folders on the diskstation are not displayed. However, once I enter smb://diskstation/foldername/ I can access the files on the diskstation. So, apparently, the file server is working, but nautilus isn't displaying the top level folders as it should. I hope you can fix this. Actually, using a terminal and --debug, I saw new instances of rhythmbox are just exiting normally: there is already a running instance in the background, which is not visible. A mere 'killall rhythmbox' stops this process and allows me to run Rhythmbox again. My guess is Rhythmbox does not stop completely when I close it. I could not find any clear reason why sometimes this happens and sometimes not. Public bug reported: Using Hardy Heron 2.6.24-21-generic #1 SMP Tue Oct 21 23:09:30 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux on AMD64X2 PC. Brasero version 0.8.1. I'm using DVD-RW 4x compatible media. The DVD has an old ISO on it and I wish to erase and burn a new ISO file to it. The old ISO was 1.4Gb prior to deletion. I select Burn Image, the ISO on my Desktop, and the program asks me whether I want to erase the old disk. I accept and the disk starts to be erased. I then get an error that there is insufficient space on the disk (see brasero-error.png screenshot). The disk is ejected with the error displayed and the 'erasing' message is still active. I close the brasero windows an program. Start to report this bug and close drive with DVD still inserted. Run up brasero again to check version and try to run again to check messages. When selecting Burn Image I get a new error occur (see Screenshot-Image Burning Setup.png) - the media is not writable with the current set of plugins. [Bug 301404] [NEW] having to use external belkin adaptor to connet to internet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-nettool with ubuntu installed on my linux aspire one, the onboard hardware doesnt seem to work all the time. when I plug in an external wireless adaptor (belkin) it works just fine abd can get on internet. Also since installing ubuntu the card reader doesnt work and the switch light for the wired to wireless switch doesnt work. Not too bothered about the last two probs but the hardware prob is a big one. Regards Steve. I observe the same problem, also Ubuntu 8.10 with 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 with visual effects disabled. The simplest way I can recreate this behaviour is: $ echo 'showpage' test.ps $ evince test.ps $ touch test.ps As mentioned above, after the last command the evince window comes to the foreground but is not focused. on hardy I added the following to /etc/rc.local, which did the trick. Replace USERNAME with your user name. Import files that contain # and @ characters in their filenames. 2. f-spot displays the images no problem. 3. Quit f-spot. 4. Start f-spot. 5. f-spot no longer displays the images: it shows empty boxes in their place. [Bug 301426] [NEW] can't navigate DVD in totem-gstreamer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer I try to play DVD whith totem-gstreamer in Ubuntu 8.04. It start playing but no menus or other navigation work. And I can't see DVD with this player. It can play only intro video. Then I try to start from command line (totem-gstreamer /media/cdrom0) but no effect. I see the gstreamer is bad and have bugs. Better use xine. Totem-xine can play DVD with menus. Best is using latest version of xine. In Hardy Heron repository old version of xine (have bugs). In Intrepid Ibex repository more stable version (I not found bugs yet). I use Ubuntu 8.04.1, Linux kernel 2.6.24-21-generic and all updates from official Hardy Heron repository.
