Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 9.04? Thanks in
advance.

[Bug 367743] [NEW] Attempt to purchase album from Rhythmbox Magnatune store fails.

2009-04-27 Thread James Lewis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When selecting the Purchase Album option in Rhythmbox, an error dialog
is displayed which reads:-

Error
An error occurred while trying to purchase the album.
The error text is:
'module' object has no attribute 'split'

This was observed in UNR 9.04.

I'm reluctant to try different permutations, as this involves a credit
card transaction, but for that very reason I think it should be
investigated, and fed back to the plugin author as a matter of urgency,
because apps shipped with Ubuntu which process credit card transactions
should work... it gives a much worse impression when this type of
process fails than others.

Most people don't care about the placement of these objects and applets.

In fact, I think average users do worry about buttons and icons which
end up in strange places. Average users that use external monitors from
time to time, that is.

I advocate tracking down apps that modify any gconf entries in the
'/apps/panel/' schema. A good first step would be to look at the 'Display
Preferences' code or any code that adjusts screen resolution and be sure
that it is considerate of this issue (not modifying 'right stick' or
'position' values of any objects or applets).

Exactly my point. Apps should not modify these values.

[Bug 315898] Re: Print from evince with DuplexNoTumble tumbles anyways

2009-04-27 Thread Alexandre Béguin
I confirm this bug.
I have a Brother MFC9840 CDW printer with duplex printing capability.
This bug is appeared only when I have upgraded to Jaunty.
When you select DuplexNoTumble or DuplexTumble, the output is always like
DuplexNoTumble.
I have this problem with OpenOffice 3.0 (OOO3M15), Evince (2.26.1), gedit
(2.26.1).
With Intrepid, there wasn't this problem.

[Bug 367771] [NEW] gnome-power-manager crashes on AC unplug

2009-04-27 Thread Florian Echtler
Public bug reported:

Hi everyone, I've just upgraded my Acer Aspire One L110 to Jaunty
Jackalope, and now my gnome-power-manager applet reliably crashes when I
unplug the AC power. Running it with --verbose doesn't give any useful
information. I can restart it, and it works also when I reattach the
power - until I remove it again.

1. Ubuntu version is 9.04
2. g-p-m version is 2.24.2-2ubuntu8.
3. expected g-p-m to keep running
4. g-p-m quit unexpectedly

UPDATE: I've tried debugging with --no-daemon, and now I'm getting
something useful:

TI:09:23:31 TH:0x918c640FI:gpm-cell.c
FN:hal_device_property_modified_cb,273
 - udi=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_battery_BAT1,

key=battery.voltage.current, added=0, removed=0, finally=1
E: socket-client.c: socket(): Address family not supported by protocol
Segmentation fault

I suppose that the address family not supported error is caused by the
custom kernel I'm running; however, g-p-m should handle that gracefully,
as I've used the same kernel in Intrepid without problems.

Florian

UPDATE 2: I've just checked this with the stock 2.6.28-11 kernel, and
while the socket() error is gone, g-p-m still crashes at the same point.

[Bug 367771] Re: gnome-power-manager crashes on AC unplug

2009-04-27 Thread Florian Echtler
** Description changed:

Hi everyone, I've just upgraded my Acer Aspire One L110 to Jaunty
Jackalope, and now my gnome-power-manager applet reliably crashes when I
unplug the AC power. Running it with --verbose doesn't give any useful
information. I can restart it, and it works also when I reattach the
power - until I remove it again.

  1. Ubuntu version is 9.04
  2. g-p-m version is 2.24.2-2ubuntu8.
  3. expected g-p-m to keep running
  4. g-p-m quit unexpectedly

UPDATE: I've tried debugging with --no-daemon, and now I'm getting
  something useful:

  TI:09:23:31 TH:0x918c640FI:gpm-cell.c
FN:hal_device_property_modified_cb,273
   - udi=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_battery_BAT1,
key=battery.charge_level.current, added=0, removed=0, finally=0
  TI:09:23:31 TH:0x918c640FI:gpm-cell.c
FN:hal_device_property_modified_cb,273
   - udi=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_battery_BAT1,
key=battery.reporting.current, added=0, removed=0, finally=0
  TI:09:23:31 TH:0x918c640FI:gpm-cell.c
FN:hal_device_property_modified_cb,273
   - udi=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_battery_BAT1,
key=battery.voltage.current, added=0, removed=0, finally=1
E: socket-client.c: socket(): Address family not supported by protocol
  Segmentation fault

I suppose that the address family not supported error is caused by the
custom kernel I'm running; however, g-p-m should handle that gracefully,
as I've used the same kernel in Intrepid without problems.

  Florian
+
+ UPDATE 2: I've just checked this with the stock 2.6.28-11 kernel, and
+ while the socket() error is gone, g-p-m still crashes at the same point.

any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 9.04? Thanks in

[Bug 367771] Re: gnome-power-manager crashes on AC unplug

2009-04-27 Thread Chris Coulson
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 367621] Re: Evolution crash on app startup

2009-04-27 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Cloned forms should be visible and printable.

[Bug 367830] [NEW] F-Spot lost the folder structure in 9.04

2009-04-27 Thread shovelhead
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

from 7.10 to 8.10, f-spot used to import any picture in a folder named

home/Photos//mm/dd

the program got the picture details from the camera and created those
sub-folders all by itself. This is NOT done anymore since the update to
9.04 last week. Right now any picture ends up in home/Photos, and the
entire date structure is lost.

BAD habit - and you can't chose anything like year/month/day structure
anywhere. It's a major drawback for an amateur photographer like me.

Ok, confirming, that's really a corner case when trying to apply a
background change to the desktop rather than to a directory in nautilus,
to send to bugzilla.gnome.org
