Since there is an option in nautilus: show hidden files, one could use
it. Or, better, always show both files, eg.: 12 items, totalling 30.4

[Bug 425952] Re: gdm requiring password for guest session

2009-10-06 Thread Robert Ancell
In summary, I think there are three problems here:
1. The guest session does not having locking disabled (see above)
(gdm-guest-session)
2. GDM prompts for a password when changing selecting the guest account in the
greeter (gdm)
3. Attempting to open a second guest session from the indicator applet locks
that users screen and fails to open the session. It should switch to the
already opened session. (gdm / indicator-applet)

[Bug 444300] [NEW] gThumb doesn't import images

2009-10-06 Thread 1Earth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

Default install, I select File - Import. It accesses the SD card and
successfully displays the content. But when clicking the import button
it stays indented, but after waiting for a long time it doesn't import
anything.

There is no difference between selecting all the photos and selecting
none.

Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10

gthumb:
  Installed: 3:2.10.11-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3:2.10.11-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3:2.10.11-1ubuntu1 0
500 http://my.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I expected it to import my photos like it had in Ubuntu 9.04.

Instead, the import button stayed indented and nothing happened.

[Bug 444308] [NEW] gpm complains about critical power level at 100% battery

2009-10-06 Thread steehle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I'm running latest packages (2.28.0-0ubuntu1) on Karmic, and my laptop
is a Compaq Presario X1000 (X1007EA to be precise). My battery is fully
charged, but when I unplug external power it takes about 1-2 minutes
before gpm claims that the power is critically low and will hibernate
computer in 4 minutes. (Even though gpm reports battery level at about
98-99%). If I don't connect external power gpm will continue with the
hibernation after 4 minutes, which is quite annoying since I can't take
my laptop with me as I use to do.

[Bug 444165] Re: Startup Applications (gnome-session-properties) does not efficiently remember running applications

Thanks, but that's not a gnome-session issue. gnome-session can only
restore applications that connect to the session manager, save it's own
state file and tell the session manager how to restore it. If some
applications don't work, then that's an application bug, and you should
open a bug report for that application

[Bug 444183] Re: karmic has issues with small pannels

2009-10-06 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, could you describe one issue by bug?
Tracking several of those in one bug is not handy

 1) Cannot make upper gnome panel smaller than 25px (the number goes
lower, but the panel stays the same size)

The number goes to 23 there and the bar seems to move according to the
value, the fact that you can't use smaller values is a duplicate

 2) Making lower gnome panel 18px makes the show desktop applet icon
be truncated

Can you take a screenshot showing the issue?

2009-10-06 Thread Sebastien Bacher
thank you for your bug report, that's not a bug though but a design
decision, the show desktop is not mean to send all software to the task
list but to show the desktop to be able to interact with it, once done
you get your normal layout back on screen
