[Bug 456980] [NEW] gedit hangs for 60 seconds when inaccessible share mounted
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit gedit will hang for exactly 60 seconds under the following conditions: 1.) An inaccessible SFTP share has been mounted using Nautilus. 2.) gedit is open on a desktop other than the current one. 3.) The Applications-Accessories-Text Editor panel menu item is selected. Requirement #1 is likely the only real requirement to trigger this, and it may not even be limited to SFTP shares. I'm including the additional information because it results in repeatable behavior. Unmounting the inaccessible SFTP share will cure the issue and cause gedit will begin working properly. I'm encountering this issue because I use a share which is on a laptop which I tend to leave asleep except when I'm transferring files to/from it. Nautilus and most everything else seem to be unconcerned about the inaccessible share. MichaelEvans: Your bug was about a use case that we don't consider as valid. There are other means of achieving the same thing (password-less account), which we consider as better for everyone. [Bug 457047] [NEW] Files and folders deleted on a Samba network share don't appear at all in Trash window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus This doesn't seem to happen on other devices (ex. USB keys, though it didn't ask me to empty the Trash like in previous release). [Bug 457043] [NEW] Totem (gstreamer) works only for one playback and then freezes (audio).
Public bug reported: When I play something with totem (audio or video, compressed, I haven't tried DVD), the first file in the playlist is reproduced correctly. When the first one is finished though, the audio freezes, and comes back only after a long time (it seems proportional to the length of the file). The totem gui remains responsive, and I can load other files in the playlist or remove them, but nothing will play; no error messages are displayed. If I play video files instead of audio, the video is played correctly every time, but not the audio, and at the end of the video the image stalls, waiting for the audio stream. If I leave it there the audio finally arrives, and when it has finished it goes to the next video with the same behaviour. The problem wasn't there a few updates ago (not more than a week). [Bug 457047] Re: Files and folders deleted on a Samba network share don't appear at all in Trash window
I don't know, I simply upgraded my Pentium 4 (32 bit) from Jaunty (with all updates) to Karmic, amongst other annoyances this was the worst. Simply, the trash doesn't show deleted files on my network share on the Samba server, although the files regularly end up in share/.Trash-uid/files and associated metadata in share/.Trash-uid/info. gvfs-ls trash:/// gives the same result. Maybe it is worth noticing the share is mounted with CIFS (not with automounting in Nautilus, which I believe uses smbclient). -- Files and folders deleted on a Samba network share don't appear at all in Trash window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/457047 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
