[Bug 592859] Re: New Message Notifications in Empathy are not Attention-Grabbing Enough
I would like to jump on this band wagon too. I prefer Pidgin for this and other reasons. Such as all the various plugins, customizable sounds, and the abilitiy to save custom Smiley Icons, Including animated ones. WHICH I LOVE. So I will confirm this and will also seach for the Smiley Icon bug here on launchpad. If I can't find it I'll report a new one. [Bug 742979] [NEW] Shortcut icons for local and global version of same program get mixed.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Reproducible. I downloaded Firefox 4 and while having a shortcut for Firefox 3.6 on my panel, I unzipped the FF4 folder and dragged the launcher to the panel to create a shortcut. [Bug 491483] Re: Since failsafe-x was enabled in karmic it starts if gdm is disabled and kdm is used. (low graphics mode error)
This bug still re-appears in lucid. The underlying problem seems to be that /etc/init.d/failsafe-x.conf is in the wrong package. x11-common should know nothing about gdm and yet here is a gdm referencing file, so as soon as you stop using gdm 2.3, the system is broken. This file should be in the gdm package - along with its supporting cast of files, or perhaps in a separate package where there is need for common elements amongst display managers. I came up against this problem with re-deploying gdm 2-20 in the lucid environment (to get multi-seat working). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491483 Title: Since failsafe-x was enabled in karmic it starts if gdm is disabled and kdm is used. [Bug 741978] Re: Running nautilus from terminal causes gnome-session to start too many nautilus processes
Same problem here, when in the shell executing: nautilus -q nautilus --no-desktop nautilus will spawn indefinitely. This can be stopped with executing 'nautilus -q'.
