[Bug 748698] Re: Empathy Internet Messaging - Crashing when idle

2011-04-03 Thread Omer Akram
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

I just installed fresh Natty 64 beta, and I still have the problem with
Totem on some (not all) MP3 files, no possibility to move inside song.

It's not a problem of permission (user has the rights on the file) and
same song which does not work on Totem, with VLC I can move the
cursor...

[Bug 748922] [NEW] No GUI for configuring extra mouse buttons/shortcuts

2011-04-03 Thread Sam Brightman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

At the moment there is no way for an average user to easily configure
any extra buttons their mouse may have or to set shortcuts for buttons.
A simple UI for the buttons could be present in gnome-mouse-properties,
but also a unified interface for input configuration could be used -
i.e. gnome-keybinding-properties could accept mouse buttons. Mice with
plenty of buttons are now very common, and asking users to install
universe packages and hand-edit config files is not really acceptable
for something so basic.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10

[Bug 748929] [NEW] When creating first accounts after entering last account and hitting back details are not preserved

2011-04-03 Thread Samineru
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

When first launching Empathy one is prompted for account login details.
I finished and hit next or yes, I cannot recall exactly. At the next
page I realized there had been a radio button for entering more accounts
at the same time, so I went back to do so. I expected the account
details I had just submitted to be present so I could simply switch the
radio button and start entering my next account.

[Bug 748949] [NEW] empathy crashs with SIGSEGV in event_manager_add() on status events

2011-04-03 Thread Benjamin Schmid
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

After upgrading to Natty Empathy starts to crash on a _very regular_
base. It seems that every status event triggers a SIGSEV crash. In the
case reported in this bug report I had an active Skype chat conversation

contact becoming online, available and offline.

I installed the empathy debugging symbols for this report. Hope this

[Bug 730556] Re: Turning off open new chats in separate windows not always works

2011-04-03 Thread Avi Greenbury
I find this happens also when I've a conversation window on a workspace
I'm not on, and someone talks to me. I click on the green envelope in
the notification area and select their name, and get a brand new window
on my current workspace.

Even when I've set the 'original' conversation window to appear on all
workspaces, this happens as long as that window is not in focus, but
appears to not when it is in focus.

This happens even with all involved contacts being on the same account.

[Bug 747791] Re: Empathy in Ubuntu 11.04 does not have right sidebar with participants in IRC chat

2011-04-03 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
I checked again the window and you are right, Omer, the participants'
window is there but it starts collapsed and the user does not know that
he/she has to expand it to check the participants in the IRC chat
window. This did not only happen to me but to also other participants in
the chat I was participated.

So the but has to be changed to : chat window in empathy starts with
participant window collapsed and has to be manually expanded. Should I
open a new bug or with this one it is sufficient to hightlight this
problem?

[Bug 749136] [NEW] Nautilus doesn’t start on active workspace

2011-04-03 Thread Frederik Elwert
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I’m running Ubuntu 11.04 Beta with Unity on a Dell Mini 9.

When launching a Nautilus file browser window, it doesn’t open on the
current workspace, but on a different one. I don’t know if this is a
nautilus, compiz or Unity issue, but I only experienced it with Nautilus
so far. It doesn’t matter if I launch Nautilus through the “personal
folder” icon in the dock, or by using Alt+F2. In either case, Nautilus
doesn’t start on the current workspace and I have to use the workspace
overview to find the Nautilus window.

it work quite well, except it still doesnt work with er.. lets say,
winrar-maked zip archives - interoperability with other os not achieved

oh, and it broke file-roller too. :(

For now frol's ppa is best solution (for me, at least)

[Bug 749394] [NEW] .evolution files missing?

2011-04-03 Thread Mark Rabideau
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I am not certain if this is a bug or a feature

I have used Backup/Restore from evolution to build email on my new 11.04
beta1 machine. For some reason the files do not show anywhere in my
/home/user/.evolution directory (I have 1.7 GB of file data). However
all my data does seem to appear in my email. I then renamed the
.evolution dir to be something unhidden (evolution- not hidden) and the
mail still works. I searched my PC for my local mail files but do not
find them. Have they gone walk-about? Anyone know where they might
reside?

[Bug 731481] Re: second window does not open CTRL-T

2011-04-03 Thread Joe Areeda
OK.

Like I said, I'm a new member of the bug squad and I've kind of adopted
your problem as my cause. So if you want to give up before I do, just
say so. I'm convinced there is a problem, perhaps it's just the lack
of an error message but hanging with a permanent busy cursor is not the
best response.

Just to be clear it works 100% on the first tab and almost 0% on the
second but we've seen it work at least once. Right?

Let's try to eliminate the network as the issue.

What happens if you open a local folder like Documents instead of the
sftp remote? Can you open multiple tabs to the same folder? If that
doesn't work it points to Nautilus or the state it's in. If it does
work, it is more evidence that it's something with the network

I just had another thought. It's possible your ISP is limiting the
number of sftp connection allowed at one time. We can test this from a
Terminal window by using command line sftp then open another tab and
doing it again, and perhaps a 3rd and 4th time. I don't know how many
connections Nautilus uses per tab it could be more than one for
efficiency.

Joe

[Bug 747582] Re: empathy crashed with SIGSEGV in _empathy_marshal_VOID__OBJECT_OBJECT_UINT_STRING_BOOLEAN()

2011-04-03 Thread Paul Hinchberger III

(resized partitions smaller). Thought I might have made the backup pre-
bug, but there's no updates available.

** Visibility changed to: Public
