[Bug 1905637] Re: Games don't go full screen correctly with newer version of libmutter
The only known explanation I can think of for this is bug 1897765, which a few gamers have reported (including upstream) as breaking fullscreen support. So please try following these instructions and tell us if you find any evidence of 'gnome-shell' crashing: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment Maybe you won't find evidence but it's definitely a simple explanation we should check for. ** Tags removed: regression-proposed ** Tags added: regression-update -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905637 Title: Games don't go full screen correctly with newer version of libmutter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1905637/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1906086] Re: DIsplay is limited to top half of the screen
OK. You would need to install Ubuntu before you can choose Wayland. But it's not guaranteed to fix things. And if you see related problems in Windows 10 then it sounds like the hardware is faulty :( Maybe not badly faulty... if the problem is just incorrect timing info in the monitor's EDID. It's not unusual for manufacturers to mess up EDIDs so hopefully that's the only problem. Regardless, if this is fixable in software then it sounds kernel-related so reassigning... ** Package changed: mutter (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906086 Title: DIsplay is limited to top half of the screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1906086/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 1906086] Re: DIsplay is limited to top half of the screen
Hi Daniel. I do not have a login screen, so I do not have a password nor do I see any of the options you have mentioned. See the attached screenshots. Screenshot 1 shows the options I have. I usually go with 'try Ubuntu' or I exit installation completely. Screenshot 2 shows the desktop and the apps option, which is the only extra thing I can do. [Bug 1773810] Re: Power Saving's screen blanking cannot be disabled, even with AC
I believe I've been running into this same bug as well. I've had it with Ubuntu 18.04 and now 20.04 both running as a VM under VirtualBox on Windows 20. I've been able to configure the settings such that the screen will stay on seemingly indefinitely once logged in. The issue occurs at the login greeter screen. I've tried changing the settings mentioned above for both the logged in user account and for the gdm user. I've also tried to configure them via /usr/share/gdm/greeter .dconf-defaults Nothing makes any difference at the login screen. After ~20 minutes the VM's screen goes black and at that point will not come back it just stays black. I am still able to SSH into the VM (which is how I often make use of the vm, though I often do need to access it's GUI.) If anyone has any idea what could be causing the login screen to blank, I'd really appreciate it. I end up having to restart the VM whenever this happens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1773810 Title: Power Saving's screen blanking cannot be disabled, even with AC To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1773810/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1903329] Re: SRU the current 2.48.9 stable update
Hi Brian I've succesfully installed and tested the `librsvg2-*` v2.48.9-1ubuntu0.20.04.1 packages on focal and can confirm that they work as expected for me, meaning i.a. that the bug I suffered from in the previous v2.48.7 is fixed. I've used the CLI `rsvg-convert` as well as the R package rsvg[1] (which uses the C bindings provided by `librsvg2-dev`) to convert SVG images to PDF. Everything was fine, no regression as far as I can tell. Thank you very much, Oliver, Brian and everyone else involved for the SRU work!
