Re: [Bug 200033] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_drive_poll_for_media()
if i cannot reproduce this bug, should i bother to download the debug symbols stuff? will it retroactively find the problem? or does it need to crash again with said package installed? Re: [Bug 28537] Re: nautilus search always starts from home in spatial mode
this bug was fixed before for edgy and feisty, i don't know why it resurfaced, didn't the code make it upstream, i believe it did, i have been following this (because it's very annoying) very puzzling... [Bug 50524] Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Instructions to Reproduce: 1. from the Places Menu drag your home folder to the desktop. this creates a usable icon which you can open and close (works fine). 2. Try do drag a text file or jpg file into the icon with the intention to copy the files to your home folder. 3.Watch it not work I've included a screenshot of the launcher properties and error, perhaps it's useful. I'm using latest dapper version w/ updates Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'gnome- desktop'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50524 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 47378] Re: dapper rc1 Root filesystem in Nautilus showing twice
i'm using edgy now, i don't think it still exists, this occurs i think when you use the uuid to mount the drive in fstab and it gets mounted again using the location (/dev/hda1). basically it's double using two diff available technique's, this occurs when not doing a clean format and changing the locations(/dev/hda*) during the install (b/c of deleting or adding partitions). so to reproduce you do a nonclean (noformat) install of dapper (on breezy) where you change the mounts (delete/add/change paritions) then i think the system tries to mount the drives using uuid in fstab which is fine, but i think the computer also tries to mount them using the normal locations(/dev/hda*), i think this is an ubiquity problem. [Bug 47378] dapper rc1 Root filesystem in Nautilus showing twice
Public bug reported: I have an internal drive so when i installed (using espresso) my system at the end of the options it opted me to have them mounted (nice feature), i checked the drives i wanted mounted (automatically added to fstab), i noticed the root drive was greyed out (but checked) so i could not modify it. when i booted from a fresh install of dapper rc1. i noticed that my root drive was showing up twice, once as Filesystem and again as 17.0 GB Volume: Root Volume. here is my unmodified fstab (ubuntu is on hda2) = # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # file system mount point type options dump pass proc/proc procdefaults0 0 /dev/hda2 / ext3defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1 /dev/sda1 /media/sata vfatdefaults,utf8,umask=007,gid=46 0 1 /dev/hda1 /media/winxpvfatdefaults,utf8,umask=007,gid=46 0 1 /dev/hda5 noneswapsw 0 0 /dev/hdd/media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user, noauto 0 0 = Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'espresso'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Unconfirmed -- dapper rc1 Root filesystem in Nautilus showing twice https://launchpad.net/bugs/47378 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 28537] Re: nautilus search always starts from home
Why not provide an option in options leave the default as is (searches in HOME, unless more people want current dir) and then provide an option to search the current working directory to be searched. that way everyone is happy, this bugs me all the time when i open up mounted partitions and try to do a search only to have to stop it select my mounted partition and hit reload. i would love it if i went to my mp3 folder hit ctrl+f and typed in britney (joking) and pulled up all her songs, sadly not the case. -- nautilus search always starts from home https://launchpad.net/bugs/28537 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 22121] gnome-screensaver does not provide a xscreensaver-command replacement
i agree i was going to post this myself as a bug/missed feature. since we aren't going to use xscreensaver anymore we should have functionality in gnome screensaver that would allow it to detect when a xscreensaver application wants the screensaver not to be disabled (e.g. gmplayer). -- gnome-screensaver does not provide a xscreensaver-command replacement https://launchpad.net/bugs/22121 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
