[Bug 1922047]
Hi, the person who originally implemented the scrolling with the wrong mode only here :) It's been a year since the original discussions and looks like everyone has forgotten about it, oops :/ Was just talking with a friend who was trying Linux out and complained about this: > [scrolling] was just easily 5x worse in firefox. everything was too fast and kept scrolling too long after releasing Please do flip the default to `apz.gtk.kinetic_scroll.mode=2`, *everyone* liked it in the Bug 1752862 discussion! I would also suggest `apz.fling_friction=0.004-if-gtk`, and `apz.gtk.kinetic_scroll.pixel_mode_multiplier=25` seems to be what people have agreed on from that previous discussion, but those are subtler and not nearly as crucial as the mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922047 Title: Touchpad scrolling is too fast To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1922047/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Most of the files that are recognised by file are mpeg version 1, layer III with CRC protection, i.e. they have the hex string 0xFFFA at offset 0, rather than 0xFFFB. It should also check for: 0xFFFA - mpeg v1, layer III (CRC protection) 0xFFF2 - mpeg v2, layer III (CRC protection) 0xFFF3 - mpeg v2, layer III (no CRC protection) I wonder would it be possible for this fix to be included in a future version? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shared-mime-info in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492363 Title: Nautilus often can't recognize mp3 without extension To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/492363/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 649809] Re: Meerkat (10.10) does not apply theme properly
I suspect this problem to be connected with the overall performance of the computer. There is most probably a race condition between gnome settings and gnome, because as far as all posts go it can be easily fixed by waiting for two seconds before trying to load gnome settings. I have many computers with 10.10 running and only the best one (i7 820, SSD) is having this problem, but not always, it is about 50/50. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/649809 Title: Meerkat (10.10) does not apply theme properly -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Hi, I am experiencing same behavior on newly installed Ubuntu 10.10 AMD 64. I believe this has been reported upstream at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=615576 as bug 615576. A fix has been submitted: filechooser: Fix a crash when removing files The file removal code was not properly clearing the file=array index cache, so later lookups into that cache would return invalid array indexes. The easiest way to reproduce it is to create a directory with two files and deleting both of them. It is a one-line patch. I will attempt to confirm that it is fixed. [Bug 489330] Re: ekiga networking failure
I also have the same version of Ekiga on Ubuntu 9.10 with updated kernel Ubuntu 2.6.31-16 (generic). The sound device settings are by default and I have also VoipCheap.com account. Ekiga won't work! It registers though. I have done everything according to the several how-to in Ubuntu forums I have found although I cannot find where should I put the STUN server settings. One reference for you: 1. I have tried Fedora 12 on the same laptop (Dell Latitude E6400) and I have just entered the VoipCheap.com account settings as new account and everything worked out of the box no other settings changed I just said that Registrar is 'voipcheap.com' and user and password and all worked. The issue is I cannot stand Fedora and all I can use for many years now is Ubuntu. 2. If you register the same Voipcheap.com account on Twinkle where for service you enter just 'voipcheap.com' on the same Ubuntu 9.10 where Ekiga fails it works nicely. This is a work around and I have used Twinkle with no ptoble for VoipCheap.com so far till I ran across that Ekiga can be used too and I think Ekiga is much more simple and nice to use then QT dependant Twinkle. Evolution would open but the send/receive was not operational. I am not sure whether this was before or after the update. I do not know if this may be relevant. I set Evolution to leave mail on the server. I created a couple folders in my Evolution inbox and saved a couple messages there. I went into Windows and retrieved my email there where it gets deleted from the server. It may have been after that when send/receive stopped working. Anyway, there were too many other problems in 7.10. I uninstalled Ubuntu in Windows and reinstalled 7.04 from wubi-save. Things appear to be working OK now except that Evolution does not open. Quoting from gconf-editor Long description field on these keys: The use of this key was deprecated in GNOME 2.20. The schema is retained for compatibility with older versions. So I'm asking again - why this feature was removed? :| ... -- window list is missing minimum / maximum size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157926 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 135237] Re: Evolution 2.10.1 produces: Error while Storing folder 'Inbox'. Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync.
I know, that it's allready reported. I resubmitted it, because there are no working solutions since 2005 yet. Just shaking it all up again to find a fix for this at last :) ... -- Evolution 2.10.1 produces: Error while Storing folder 'Inbox'. [Bug 135237] Evolution 2.10.1 produces: Error while Storing folder 'Inbox'. Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Allready tried all possible solutions (removing index files, exporting and importing mails from mbox format), but no luck to get rid of this annoying error. There are lots of people getting this error for a long time, but no working solutions so far... Also after deleting index file, all messages, wich are flaged as important, loses their flags and read/unread status. Also these duplicate mails, when this error happens. Imagine what is going on on a folder with 3k or more mail messages. Maybe the problem is in Evolution startup while messages index check (or index rewriting), when at the same moment new mails are arriving and therefore not having proper access to message index (mail counts and status in Inbox by example). I have noticed, that this bug appears mostly when Evolution is started and there is a new mail on server to download. I think so, because it never happened to any other folder (at least for me). There are new version of Evolution (2.10.2), but it's available only on Gutsy at the moment (I have Feisty Fawn 7.04). Maybe this bug is fixed there, don't know. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: B B Status: New ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = B B -- Evolution 2.10.1 produces: Error while Storing folder 'Inbox'. I don't know what type of system you have mine isn't the fastest and yet when apport starts to do its thing it certainly does choke my system. I end up killing it instead of waiting for it to finish.
