[Bug 517021] Re: gvfsd-metadata causes 100% CPU usage
Are you guys talking about the issue on NFS filesystems or local disks? There have been two independent issues, the NFS issue was fixed in around gvfs_1.17 while the other issue was fixed around gvfs_1.22. NFS issue: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=624507 local issue: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=756205 Please make sure to use the latest upstream version of gvfs before filing any bug reports. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517021 Title: gvfsd-metadata causes 100% CPU usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/517021/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 720927] Re: gvfsd-metadata on nfs homes produces large number of nfs requests
As a subscriber of the RedHat bug report (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=561904) I received a message from a non-public duplicate of this bug report in the RedHat bug tracker which has been filed by a "strategic customer". The duplicate non-public bug report has therefore increased severity and will hopefully be fixed in the future with a new upsteam/patch release. [Bug 720927] Re: gvfsd-metadata on nfs homes produces large number of nfs requests
I have added the respective bug reports in Debian and Fedora/RHEL. Also, there is an upstream bug report: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637095 FYI: The linked Fedora/RHEL bug report contains in-depth analysis by Michael Karcher why this issue arises. He came to the conclusion that the bug cannot be easily fixed as this is a fundamental design issue. [Bug 697400] Re: "Classic desktop" does not work in natty
Hi, I can confirm this bug. However, it's not always reproducible as the origin of the problem seems to be a race condition which causes gnome- panel not to show up. I also experienced the problem in a virtual machine (kvm host on Debian Squeeze) and that's I also had to use the non-accelerated 2D desktop. When installing the current beta of Ubuntu Natty 11.04, the panel would load fine. However, after installing the updates as of Thursday, the problem showed up. After installing the updates, rebooting Ubuntu and logging in, the panel would be gone. The panel can be brought back by invoking the "Run command" dialog, typing "xterm" or "gnome-terminal" to start a terminal and then killing the panel with killall -9 gnome-panel and then restarting the panel with gnome-panel & Since the last software update today, however, the problem seems to be gone. I have rebooted my virtual machine with Natty several times but the panel shows up all the time now. So, the bug might be fixed already. If you want to reproduce the bug, I suggest installing the Ubuntu Natty beta in a kvm virtual machine, together with all updates available. There are also other problems with the default skin when using the beta in a kvm machine: the skin falls back to the ugly GNOME standard theme without any skins. [Bug 524869] [NEW] Login window has title bar with buttons and frame
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Hi, during one of the last updates, a new version of gdm was installed which prompts with a slightly different login window now. The new window has a title bar, a frame and even buttons to minimize the screen. However, since there no other windows in gdms login screen, neither the title bar nor the buttons appear to make any sense. Clicking the "Minimize" button, for example, will result in a "minimize" animation, however, the login window does not get minimized. Thus, I suppose that the title bar and buttons appear in the login window by mistake. I will try to take a screenshot and attach it later. [Bug 415932] Re: screen-brightness regression fix for Karmic
Hi, I still don't see any popus when changing the volume or the brightness on my Thinkpad T43 laptop with karmic and all updates as of 07.10.2009. Version of gnome-power-manager is 2.28.0-0ubuntu3. Any hints?
