Same problem here also Xubutu 14.04.
Every time thunar copies a file to connected usb device I get this error. Don't
think this bug report is a duplicate of #1096837, I don't even use evince and
it happens with every file, regardless of extension.

[Bug 508632] Re: [FFe] Toggle button for Nautilus location field gone

2010-05-05 Thread Alen
How to apply the patch?
I downloaded nautilus source, patched it, run .config and make and everything
went ok. Tried starting built version without installing and there is no
button? I checked both files in source and they are patched. Or it needs to be
installed to work?

[Bug 508632] Re: [FFe] Toggle button for Nautilus location field gone

2010-05-05 Thread Alen
Thank you midspeclowload, your english is just fine.
I used checkinstall to build and install (just to be able to remove it later
easily) and it worked fine after killing old nautilus. I noticed it is
configured by default to install in /usr/local/bin/. Is it ok or should I have
configured it into /usr/bin/?
Two more problems:
1. somehow installed version shows in package manager as 2.30.0-1 (instead of
original 2.30.0-0ubuntu4) and now update manager
wants to update it. I used dpkg-source -x nautilus_2.30.0-0ubuntu4.dsc to
extract and patch it, the correct version is not set automatically?
2. Some plugins don't work: nautilus-open-terminal, nautilus-sendto. There is
no options in context menu anymore.

Sorry for a lot of questions, I'm not a packager and after reading
ubuntu wiki guide my head started to hurt a bit :-)

[Bug 346964] Re: menu items selected from screen 1 open on screen 0

2009-06-10 Thread Alen
Intrepid is not so bug free...
Does this bug cover dragdrop from the menu to the desktop?
Because when i do that on the screen 1, the launcher appears on screen 0 (8.04,
32-bit).
Also, right click--Properties on the launcher on panel opens properties window
on the wrong screen (0).
Opening anything from 'Places' menu opens nautilus on the screen 0.
BTW, I also noticed the shutdown bug.
In 8.04 I used to open movies on my TV (screen 1) via nautilus, in 8.10 I have
to open player and then it opens associated file types on that screen wherever
I click on the movie.
Until now I didn't figure out a way to open nautilus on screen 1, only thing
that works is opening via terminal.
I only use second screen for watching movies, but it could be quite frustrating
for someone who wants to do some work involving two screens.
I have dual boot with 9.04 64-bit, would have to try this patch later on it.
Currently this installation is quite unusable because some other bugs (user
switching crashing X)...
Gnome devs definitely broke something in the last 2 releases of gnome. Never
had any problems with 2 screens on 7.10, but starting from hardy strange things
are hapening :-)

[Bug 339783] Re: Separate X-screen, apps launched from 2nd screen appear on first screen

2009-05-13 Thread Alen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 290935 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290935

I agree, this is a separate bug.
I would also comment that it exists in intrepid also in some way:
- starting nautilus from the menu on screen 1 - starts on screen 0
- dragging a application from the menu on screen 1 - shortcut appears on screen 0
Nvidia 7600 with repo 180 drivers, but it happened to me also with previous
versions (17x).
Jaunty 64 bit - panels ok, apps starting os screen 0 in when launched on 1.

[Bug 267151] Re: USB automount lost on hardy upgrade

2008-11-22 Thread Alen
This is one of the problems that made me upgrade to intrepid, clean
install this time (except for the /home partition). Inttrepid has not
the problem with USB mounting. Maybe this bug manifests only after
gutsy--hardy upgrade, i really don't know. Didn't try clean install of
hardy.

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2008-02-26 Thread Alen
I applied the update last night and it works for now: no more hanging (and high
CPU usage) nautilus when opened closed on secondary screen.
As for sudo nautilus, usually I don't do that, but here is the result: upon
closing I get Segmentation fault (core dumped).
But nautilus doesn't get hung any more...it crashes nicely instead :-)

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2008-02-26 Thread Alen
The same thing happened here. But my biggest problem was logging off another
user or closing nautilus on the secondary screen.
Fixing /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default solved the first problem, and this update
seems to have fixed the other. I never had the problem with large
nautilus-debug-log.txt

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2008-01-28 Thread Alen
Did anyone notice some other simptoms beside nautilus hogging all the CPU?
Killing it in /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default solved the logout problem for me.
Today after returning from work I noticed (again) slow user switching, slow
application startup - it took 20 s to maximize pan with a lot of disk
activity. Swap usage 1.5/2 GB :-)
Sometimes nautilus from the other user hangs silently, not using any CPU,
but eating a lot of RAM

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ free -m
 total used free sharedbuffers cached
Mem: 2027 1976 50 0 17300
-/+ buffers/cache: 1658368
Swap: 2047 1574473

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEMTIME+ COMMAND

14755 elly 15 0 648m 519m 11m S0 25.6 2:13.74 nautilus

So, until now i have:
- nautilus hanging every time i open it on the secondary screen
- when logging off users (solved)
- random hanging with 0% CPU usage but eating RAM
Not to mention other bugs...people I'm switching back to feisty until hardy
comes out, still have it on other partition...

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2008-01-20 Thread Alen
It is bugged out of the box...
Maybe I'm wrong, but it happened on my machine on the fresh install and also
after upgrading from feisty.
All I have to do is start nautilus from Places menu on the secondary screen
and then close it.
Or log off one of the users. Simple as that: start/close or logoff.

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2008-01-11 Thread Alen
It's not so complicated for me: all I have to do is open nautilus on the
secondary screen (LCD TV) and close it - it remains among the other processes
with 100% CPU usage. Usually there are two users logged on on the machine and
no one can logout without nautilus to go wild :-)
Removed tracker a long time ago since it would go crazy when nautilus was
killed...
Should I remove user switcher? I t tends to crash xserver from time to time...
