[Bug 366313] Re: Gnome desktop preferences fail to load

2009-05-05 Thread Ambricka
I removed .gnome* and .gconf* from my homedir to make gnome-settings-daemon
work again.
Not sure I had to remove all of them, (just mv, ok) but now it works, and seems
to be blazingly fast compared to what it was before...

[Bug 306490] Re: XF86Mail is identical to suspend keyboard shortcut

2008-12-09 Thread Ambricka
I have (had?) a similar problem with my Asus eee pc 900, where it
launched evolotion as soon as I inserted the power cord, however I
disabled the mail hotkey and haven't been bothered by it anymore.

[Bug 290394] Re: Vinagre can not connect to ipv6 address without resolve

2008-10-30 Thread Ambricka
Some more info, vinagre can connect to ipv6 addresses entered in the gui, but
not on the command line.
I guess I could hack the command line parser to be able to use ipv6 there too.
One way is ip:v6::adress/port to differentiate from ip.v.4.address:port

[Bug 196675] Re: vino only listens for ipv6 connections

2008-10-29 Thread Ambricka
Hmm, sorry. After some further investigations I can confirm that vino doesn't
accept connections with only allow local.
However, this seems to be fixed upstream since a couple of days ago.

[Bug 155109] Re: Erratic volume control behaviour with different USB audio devices

2008-10-29 Thread Ambricka
I have exactly the same problems with Multimedia audio controller:
Ensoniq ES1370 [AudioPCI] (rev 01), so it's not only USB devices. This
is intrepid ibex rc on amd64.

[Bug 196675] Re: vino only listens for ipv6 connections

2008-10-28 Thread Ambricka
No problem connecting with ipv4 here, even though my netstat -tlp looks similar.
A bigger problem for me is when I'm only reachable via ipv6 and the host isn't
listed in dns I can't connect with vinagre which doesn't accept raw ipv6 host
addresses. (Or am I just wrong in the ipv6 notation?)

[Bug 290394] Re: Vinagre can not connect to ipv6 address without resolve

2008-10-28 Thread Ambricka
of course, ping6, traceroute6, ssh, just about anything work...
I guess vinagre is just not aware of ipv6 on commandline, internal it's ok. It
thinks the first colon marks end of ipv4 address and then comes the port...

[Bug 196675] Re: vino only listens for ipv6 connections

2008-10-28 Thread Ambricka
oh, somewhat newer than the original post.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache policy vino
vino:
  Installed: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://se.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

It could depend on sysctl settings, if ipv6 binds ipv4 too
net.ipv6.bindv6only = 0

I manually installed xserver-xorg-input and gnome, then it all started working
again.
Will probably work for others too.
