Gidday

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and have a Canon PowerShot SX50HS. Installing

has solved the problem for me.

For Bernard in comment #76

addresses this issue. I encounter this but see it as normal (not
necessarily elegant) behaviour.

[Bug 1225588] [NEW] Wakeup key press passes through lock screen

2013-09-14 Thread Angus Gibson
Public bug reported:

When I use the super or alt keys to wake up from sleep, the lock screen
comes up as usual. However, upon successfully logging in, the Dash or
alt-menu will be open, when they definitely weren't open before the
sleep. I would expect that keys I press to wake up don't get passed
through the lock screen to the desktop.

Sorry, mate. After a few frustrated weeks I did a clean install of 8.04
64-bit version and no longer not suffer from the problem.

[Bug 230459] Re: Segmentation fault: Gedit, open office close when creating a new file

2008-06-03 Thread Angus
Here's a backtrace of Gedit.

Simply started program and clicked on Open button.

Can open a file through file browser but if I try and do a save as,
program just dies.

Same with Gimp and OO.

[Bug 210973] [NEW] failed import photos-not responding on close

2008-04-02 Thread Angus Ryer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

My stuff and my experience:
- Dell Optiplex GX260 1.8Ghz/2Gbs RAM
- Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS
- Kodac EasyShare C433
- Plugged it in, it was detected, but no auto-import was initiated (not a
problem, but that functionality was present in 7.10)
- F-Spot gave GUI error [Could not lock the device while connecting to
camera] - this is when trying to use the import function in F-spot
- Tried to close the app, but it stopped responding - force-closed it, and thus
the bug report tool came up, so here I am!
---
I attempted to import again from F-Spot, but this time I ran it from the
terminal to see any errors: It Worked!
- Still produced a Segmentation fault when closed though.
---
Tried again, without the terminal: It imported photos fine (but with a slight
delay - thought it was going to crash because the app went grey for a moment)
and then it closed fine. Interesting.
- Just a note: still no auto-import function. Is this normal? I'll read up on
it.

Thanks everyone!

[Bug 135471] Re: Addressbook crash when searching contacts by any field contains

2007-12-13 Thread Angus Turnbull
Hi, can one of the Evolution maintainers please comment as to whether
there are any plans to fix this crasher in Gutsy? It's solved upstream
and (apparently) in Hardy, and the Evolution addressbook is essentially
broken in Gutsy without this fixed.

Thanks!
