selecting a different type of visualization, for some reason I cannot do
it - only Goom is available.

[Bug 93623] Totem skips mp3 (while Rhythmbox doesn't)

2007-03-19 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

In Feisty development version with all updates as of March 19, 2007,
Totem-gstreamer plays mp3 files with awful skipping, while Rhythmbox
plays the same files fine. As both applications use Gstreamer as a
backend, I presume this is a bug in Totem.

2007-03-19 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Oops, nevermind the output in my last comment. Here's the correct
command:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/media/sda6/Music$ gst-launch-0.10 playbin
uri=file:///media/sda6/Music/natasha_perfectnine.mp3
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is PREROLLING ...

It plays OK.

[Bug 56180] Default keybindings for Previous/Next interfere with editing

2006-08-12 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gtranslator

By default, keybindings for Go-Previous and Go-Next menu commands are
Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right. However, these keys are needed for editing (to
move one word back and forward). Therefore I suggest binding
Go-Previous and Go-Next to something else by default. I personally
bind them to Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down, and for Go-First and Go-Last I use
Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn.

[Bug 33814] Nautilus doesn't keep desktop icon positions after reboot

2006-03-17 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33814

Comment:
14 users have confirming this bug in Dapper:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=143821.

Moreover, additional details regarding this bug have surfaced: if I
manually place the icons leaving about 2cm between them vertically, they
don't move, but after Clean Up By Name they change locations
invariably.

Please do at least acknowledge this bug, it's indeed very annoying and
does not belong in a professional OS which Mark aims for.

[Bug 35326] Can't choose icons for custom launchers other than from /usr/share/pixmaps

2006-03-17 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35326

Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When I want to add a custom launcher, the only directory from which I
can choose icons for it is /usr/share/pixmaps. Any other directory
chosen using the Browse window (including the subdirectories of
/usr/share/pixmaps) will have its files greyed out and not available for
selection. To use an icon from elsewhere, I have to copy it to
/usr/share/pixmaps.

(This is basically copy-pasted from #34295, but that was filed against
quick-lounge-applet and now I've found that the bug applies to the panel
and desktop as like. Because of the/ico latter, I'm not sure if the
choice of gnome-panel package is right though...)

[Bug 34321] Gnome-session doesn't respect turning off automatic session saving and opens Nautilus by itself

2006-03-10 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34321

Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
I've found that gnome-session doesn't properly handle turning off
automatic session saving. Here's what I done:

1) Turn on auto_save_session via gconf-editor.
2) Leave some program open - say, Gnome Terminal.
3) Reboot. Upon login, Gnome Terminal pops up, which is what is supposed to
happen.
4) Turn off auto_save_session via gconf-editor. Close all apps.
5) Reboot. Upon login, gconf-editor opens, which was closed before rebooting,
as well as Nautilus, which wasn't launched at all.

To fix this manually, I have to delete ~/.gnome2/session file after
turning off automatic session saving.

Description:

[Bug 33813] Totem exits on second launch attempt in a session

2006-03-05 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33813

Affects: totem (Ubuntu)

 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Insert a DVD, Totem will start playing it. Stop the playback, exit
Totem. If you try to launch Totem again with or without the DVD in the
drive, it will exit immediately after launch. You can also eject the DVD
and insert it again with the same results.

This is on Dapper Flight 4 with latest updates, xine backend (but I
believe this is not backend specific anyway).

[Bug 33813] Totem exits on second launch attempt in a session

2006-03-05 Thread Artem Vakhitov
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33813

Comment:
This is what I get in the terminal when I launch Totem second time:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ totem
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 81 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
