Re: [Bug 1831369] Re: Gnome Shell pauses and stutters when under heavy load
This problem appears when I use any loading program: Chromium, Firefox, Libreoffice, etc... For example, the Nautilus 3.33.91 bug leads to the endless deletion of files from the recycle bin, which leads to increased load. I feel sticky animations and I/O operations in GNOME Shell. I think GNOME Shell 3.34 have problem with memory leak. ср, 28 авг. 2019 г. в 05:00, Daniel van Vugt : > Are you saying it appears to be fixed now? > > If not then your video seems to suggest part of the problem is also the > snap resource usage on startup. Hello everyone! No I have already tested Ubuntu 19.10 on Wayland. I have noticed that I don't see the problem with window flickering to black. Animations are more smoothly and beautiful: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1WiGYQziTSnrjrfz9 . I think Ubuntu 20.04 LTS should go with Wayland session as default. Why? Re: [Bug 1835521] Re: [regression] Artifacts appears when windows are maximizing or minimizing (Intel Apollo Lake)
Thank you very much. Will GNOME 3.34 bereally faster and smoother? I am very tired of the creepy animations and the long opening of the application menu. Sometimes there is a desire to change the graphical shell, but I hold on. I envy the device owners on macOS with their cool Launchpad (menu of apps, not website) and and the animations of minimizing/maximizing. I really wish to make Ubuntu so beautiful system as macOS. пн, 8 июл. 2019 г., 8:55 Daniel van Vugt : > Thanks for that. > > It seems you are reporting multiple different issues here. Re: [Bug 1832317] Re: A quick type in the Gnome 3 search sticks
I don't understand you in "and unsurprising if it's during an operation that requires gnome-shell to perform disk IO like searching". What does it mean? Do such freezes look like norm? I believe it's a problem and we should solve it. I want to add, that I will not see such problems if I print a random text in the search line. Problem will appear only if I enter a part of name of Ubuntu package, file or folder. вт, 11 июн. 2019 г. в 12:00, Daniel van Vugt : > In your video it looks like you are typing "ubuntu" and gnome-shell is > too slow to display much of the typing. Re: [Bug 1831588] Re: Slow photo saving from Evince to my folder in Nautilus
Sorry, but Ubuntu as other Linux distributions is compilation of different developments. For example, if Ubuntu Desktop freezes, will I write to GNOME Project? My laptop really can't install system to UEFI because /dev/sda/grub-install ends with error. Only legacy installation complete successful. Should I write to GRUB or Linux kernel developers? For example, if I have error with Ubuntu OS, may be I should write to Debian developers (because Ubuntu is Debian-based system)? If you buy a salad in restaurant and it tastes bad, will you complain for people that grown vegetables or for restaurant that prepared this salad from vegetables? вт, 4 июн. 2019 г., 13:30 Sebastien Bacher : > Thank you for your bug report, the nautilus file-manager doesn't seem > involved there though? Re: [Bug 1831588] Re: Slow photo saving from Evince to my folder in Nautilus
Nautilus saves photo from Evince. But this process is some long. I have one question. Should I report about this bug to GNOME project or you will do it yourself? I understand that Evince is part of GNOME Project, but it is part of Ubuntu too. So Ubuntu team can modify source code of Evince and solve this bug without approve of GNOME Team. It's completely open-source... вт, 4 июн. 2019 г., 13:30 Sebastien Bacher : > Thank you for your bug report, the nautilus file-manager doesn't seem > involved there though?
