[Bug 2026194] Re: When clicking on some maximized or tiled windows, focus on roughly the lower quarter falls to the window behind

2024-05-03 Thread Mikhail B
I'm experiencing the same issue.

Ubuntu 24.04, mutter 46.0-1ubuntu9, gnome-shell 46.0.
Affected programs - Alacritty, Terminator, Konsole (from snap).
Not affected - VS Code, gnome-calculator, vivaldi.

The workaround "restore-interact-maximize" doesn't work for me,
unfortunately.

[Bug 62949]

2023-12-13 Thread Nate-b
We're open to improving the UX in the future to allow directly
triggering exposed global actions, rather than just keyboard shortcuts.
But that's an improvement for the existing feature, so I'd recommend
that someone submit a new feature request Bugzilla ticket to track it.
:)

[Bug 62949]

2023-12-12 Thread Nate-b
Most of those actions are exposed globally, and either have a keyboard
shortcut bound to them by default, or you can bind one yourself. And you
can also assign arbitrary shell scripts to global keyboard shortcuts.
Then you can bind a mouse button to the keyboard shortcut used to
trigger any of those actions. So the ability is there.

[Bug 1982560] Re: Mouse lag/stutter (missed frames) in Wayland sessions

2023-11-19 Thread Kerem B
I have this issue also. Hereby some info over my case:
- This only happens with the device "ID 1b1c:1bac Corsair CORSAIR KATAR PRO XT
Gaming Mouse". I also have a Logitech M330 and I never have the issue using
that one. I don't think the Corsair mouse is defect though, because I use it
also with a Windows PC and it works perfectly there.
- The freeze is for the complete screen, not just the cursor. Sometimes it is
several seconds long, sometimes a short stutter.
- I don't find anything in systemd journal when this happens.
- My network device also stops during the freezes. If I am streaming radio with
Rhythmbox I get a seek error.
- It never happened when I am in a game. Only during desktop use.

this is probably another thing
in gtk, kinetic scrolling stops after you put a finger on the touchpad
(zwp_pointer_gesture_hold_v1 event), but in firefox it doesn't, you have to wait

[Bug 1952107] Re: Google Contacts API Deprecated

2022-10-20 Thread V B
Hi again Affred and thank you very much for trying to help me. So, firstly,
just to be sure that there is no confusion, the way I configured my google
account in Ubuntu 22.04 is not in Evolution, but in Ubuntu Settings -> Online
Accounts, then Evolution automatically uses that account. In Online Accounts I
ticked all possible things to sync for my google account (including Contacts).
Like I said, entering the app password in Online Accounts is not accepted by
Ubuntu. Then I did, as you said, open the Seahorse app. When I look into that
with the filter set to "Show any" (so that it doeas not filter any entries
out), I see no entry for Address Book. The only entry I see is named "GOA
google credentials for identity account_xx_y" and it has a poassword
field (can be edited after clicking right on the entry and choosing Properties)
like:
{'authorization_code':
<'a'>,
'access_token':
<''>,

'access_token_expires_at': , 'refresh_token':
<'ccc'>}

So there is no password or app password part in the above field. I even
tried to replace that field with {'password': <''>},
where ee...ee will be the app password, or directly with ee...eee, but
no luck.

Any other suggestions please? Thank you very much.

2022-10-20 Thread V B
Hi Alfred, I did create a app password in the Google account (I had to
enable the 2-step veryfication before doing it), but Gnome, in its
Online Contacts, does not accept my app password for the google account,
instead only the real google account password. Any instructions please
about how you configured Evolution (or Gnome) to use the app password?

[Bug 1989288] [NEW] EOG doesn't free memory and crashes system

2022-09-11 Thread B Keij
Public bug reported:

What happens:

EOG takes up memory for every individual picture that is displayed and
doesn't free it up again until closed. With high resolution images, this
can easily lead to OOM killer being invoked.

How to reproduce:

1) have a directory with many images, preferably large file size
2) open one with EOG and keep scrolling through them with the arrow keys

[Bug 1903329] Re: SRU the current 2.48.9 stable update

2020-12-02 Thread Salim B
Hi Brian

I've succesfully installed and tested the `librsvg2-*`
v2.48.9-1ubuntu0.20.04.1 packages on focal and can confirm that they
work as expected for me, meaning i.a. that the bug I suffered from in
the previous v2.48.7 is fixed.

I've used the CLI `rsvg-convert` as well as the R package rsvg[1] (which
uses the C bindings provided by `librsvg2-dev`) to convert SVG images to
PDF. Everything was fine, no regression as far as I can tell.

Thank you very much, Oliver, Brian and everyone else involved for the
SRU work!

[Bug 1903329] Re: SRU the current 2.48.9 stable update

2020-11-09 Thread Salim B
** Description changed:

  * Impact

That's the current GNOME stable update, which fixes a number of issues,
including a regression[1] since librsvg 2.40.x which was shipped in
Ubuntu 16.04. The NEWS file[2] summarizes the relevant changes between
Ubuntu 20.04's current librsvg 2.48.7 (that version was also introduced
by an SRU back in July[3]) and the current version 2.48.9. The complete
list of changes is available on GNOME GitLab[4].

  * Test case

The update is part of GNOME stable updates[5].

Smoke testing by opening SVG images with eog or importing them with gimp
can be performed to ensure there are no regressions.

  * Regression potential

This is a bugfix-only stable micro-release, however librsvg is a core
component with a number of reverse dependencies. A combination of
autopkgtests and manual smoke testing to try and detect SVG rendering
  issues should be performed.

  * Notes about this report

This is my first SRU request (and at the same time my first launchpad
bug report). I'm not really familiar with the whole SRU process which is
why I first asked about it on Ubuntu's official discourse forum[6].
Canonical's Sebastien Bacher encouraged me to open this ticket. I've
copied over some parts of the last librsvg SRU ticket[3]. I hope this is
  fine.

  Thanks for considering this SRU.

Re-opening since this is a reasonable request. Binding shortcuts/actions
to additional mouse buttons seems reasonable.

Even if there's no explicit Qt support (is this still true?) we could
still implement it ourselves on the KDE side.

[Bug 1644995] Re: specific SVG file breaks Ubuntu 16.04 desktop + nautilus

[Bug 1813441] Re: Can no longer drag and drop files between desktop and applications

2020-06-10 Thread Salim B
> We are somewhat trapped. It's a choice between using the old version
of nautilus forever with bugs and incompatibilities, or the new version
of nautilus without desktop support. Those are not good choices but they
are all we have now. This is not a problem created by, or unique to
Ubuntu.

That seems not quite accurate. Of course, using the whole GNOME 3
desktop incl. latest Nautilus is the way to go for Ubuntu. The absence
of proper "desktop support" is unfortunate. Also sad: The current state
of the official replacement for Nautilus' desktop support, the GNOME
Shell extension "Desktop Icons", is pretty premature (still limited
keyboard support etc.).

BUT!

1. Why does Ubuntu force its users to stick with an outdated version of
the GNOME Shell extension "Desktop Icons"? Ubuntu ships the extension
via the DEB package `gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons` which *cannot*
be removed without also removing the packages `ubuntu-desktop` and
`ubuntu-desktop-minimal`. This completely sucks. Because of the pre-
installed extension DEB package, one cannot install/update the latest
upstream version of the extension from
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1465/desktop-icons/

2. Why doesn't Canonical assign some of its developer ressources to
improving the "Desktop Icons" extension? This would not only benefit The
Ubuntu ecosystem but every Linux distro shipping the GNOME 3 desktop.
The sources are found here:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/ShellExtensions/desktop-icons

---

For the time being, Ubuntu users can use the following workaround to get
the latest version of the "Desktop Icons" extension which already brings
limited drag-and-drop support and keyboard support:

Ensure you have 7-Zip, Git and Meson installed (e.g. via the Debian
packages `p7zip`, `git` and `meson`), then run the following in a
terminal to update the extension:

cd /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions

# backup the DEB-packaged extension if not already done before and delete it
if [ ! -s desktop-icons_bckp.7z ] ; then sudo 7z a desktop-icons_bckp.7z
desktop-icons@csoriano/* ; fi
rm -R desktop-icons@csoriano

# build and copy the extension from git master branch
git clone g...@gitlab.gnome.org:World/ShellExtensions/desktop-icons.git
~/desktop-icons
cd ~/desktop-icons
./export-zip.sh
unzip desktop-ic...@csoriano.zip -d desktop-icons@csoriano
sudo mv desktop-icons@csoriano /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/

# clean up
rm -R ~/desktop-icons

The value from _opt_zoom_zoom.1000.uploaded (which I'm assuming is the id you
are talking about) is `853ce704-a3a4-11ea-aaae-fa163ee63de6`

- _usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash (likely important)
id: a8813cc4-a3a4-11ea-a560-fa163e6cac46

I have some woopsie crashes:

I disabled all my extensions and this the problem appeared fixed.
I then re-enabled them ... and it is still fixed.

After restart it looks like the bug is back ... after more testing it appears
to be in the

[Bug 1852183] Re: [X11] copy/paste (clipboard) is broken in Ubuntu 19.10 & 20.04

2020-04-28 Thread J. B. Rainsberger
For the benefit of bystanders who might be using the Clipboard Indicator
extension to Gnome, I've switched to CopyQ and been quite happy with the
results. I'll know more in the next 2-3 weeks whether this problem
persists in my environment when I complete my next expense report.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone involved in trying to diagnose and
fix this problem. I share many people's frustrations about not getting a
version of Mutter that seems to work, especially since it seems beyond
me to try to upgrade Mutter independently of the rest of the operating
system in order to evaluate the results. Coupling!

[Bug 1873483] [NEW] Screensaver locks when advancing to YouTube's next autoplay video

2020-04-17 Thread Nate B
Public bug reported:

So I'm watching YouTube videos, and I have autoplay enabled, so when it
gets to the end of one, it lingers for a moment then jumps right into
another. While watching a video, the screensaver is inhibited, as it
should be. Because most of these videos are considerably longer than my
lock period.

But during that jump, there's an instant where there isn't technically a
video playing, and since I haven't touched the keyboard in a while, BAM,
the screensaver springs into action.

And I'm sitting here during the intro of the next video, listening to
the theme and narrator, and going "Well that's interesting, is he
leading with a black screen for some narrative reason?" until I bump the
mouse and there's my lockscreen...

In this situation, the end of the video-is-playing status should have a
moment of holdoff before killing the screen, in case another video
starts playing a few milliseconds later.

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, gnome-screensaver 3.6.1-8ubuntu3, Firefox 75.0.

[Bug 1872871] Re: Xdg-Shell Stable not working properly

2020-04-16 Thread a b
SOLVED (code-error and not an actual issue (although perhaps the window-
selector glitching-out with improper code should be addressed)):

From
(https://www.reddit.com/r/vulkan/comments/g1ikb0/gnome_wayland_not_working_with_vulkan_on_debian/):

Thanks, I tried putting wl_proxy_marshal((struct wl_proxy *)
xdg_surface, XDG_SURFACE_ACK_CONFIGURE, serial);
(xdg_surface_ack_configure() equivalent) before every vkQueueSubmit (I
know that you meant to put the ack in response to events, but while
trying to make things work, I thought that it needed to be before every
vkQueueSubmit), and the window-menu started working, but events weren't
triggering. I then discovered that I needed to call
wl_display_roundtrip() every frame and only call
xdg_surface_ack_configure after certain events (xdg_surface_listener's
and xdg_toplevel_listener's configure events). This is what I ended-up
with in my draw loop:

retStatus = wl_display_flush(display);
if(retStatus == -1) {
//TODO: use poll() to wait until display fd is writable
again, and call wl_display_flush again
exit(1);
}
wl_display_roundtrip(display); //blocks
submitInfos[0].pCommandBuffers = [imageIndex];
vkQueueSubmit(graphicsQueue, 1, submitInfos,
fence);
wl_display_dispatch_pending(display);

Another hint: I have Notebook and mobile phones with the same account coming

[Bug 1872871] [NEW] Xdg-Shell Stable not working properly

2020-04-14 Thread a b
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to run a simple Vulkan program on Debian Testing (GNOME
desktop using Mesa Vulkan implementation), but it seems like there might
be an issue with GNOME, since none of the xdg_shell (stable) callbacks
seem to be working and resizing the window doesn't work (although the
window is rendering correctly at least). Swapping to another window, and
then going to the list of windows to choose from causes the window's
preview (on the list of windows) to be partially-hidden behind other
windows and be unclickable (note that this is GNOME's window-selection
screen(under activities), not switching tabs like on Windows). None of
the Wayland (including xdg-shell) functions are returning errors and
Vulkan validation layers are not reporting any warnings. is anyone else
experiencing this and/or knows a solution to this? Could this be because
I'm using xdg-shell stable (xdg_wm_base), which was released relatively
recently? I'm using a .h file (generated from the xdg-shell xml on my
system) to define the interfaces (not a static or dynamic library), but
I believe that this is correct, and that there is no xdg-shell dynamic
library to load. I was using wl_shell before this, and the window-
selection screen worked properly while using wl_shell.

[Bug 1855165] [NEW] gvfsd-dav crashed with SIGSEGV

2019-12-04 Thread Praveen B
Public bug reported:

Setup
Lubuntu 19.10

Steps to Reproduce
* Using the file manager, pcmanfm-qt, perform a secure webdav mount using 'Go'
-> 'Connect to server' option
* After mounting the remote dav folder, attempt to perform a copy of a large
file (> 500M) from local machine to remote folder

Expected behavior
File copy should succeed

Observed behavior
file manager crashes and the mount is no longer present

Additional Information
When I attempted to gather more information by attaching gdb to the gfvsd-dav
process, I was unable to reproduce the problem. Without gdb, problem readily
reproduces at my end.

Re: [Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not

2019-06-25 Thread Sergio B
@h23 if you are seeing the same behaviour in the terminal the Nautilus is
not the problem. Your USB is write protected or your computer is picking it
up like that for some reason.

You can insert the USB Stick and then run:

dmesg | tail

To see the system log. There you can see if the write protection is turned
on. If you see something like `Write Protect is off`then you should be
okay, otherwise the USB Stick is protected.

[Bug 1829533] Re: Doubled desktop icons

2019-05-18 Thread Charles B Kramer
As you will see from the attached screenshot, there are standard folder
icons on the left. Those are the duplicates. They do not respond when
clicked and cannot be dragged or auto-arranged.

The ones that do work mostly have customized folder images. For
example, there is:

-- a standard folder "Chernobyl" that is a duplicate (doesn't work)

-- a customized folder depicting an atom (clicks when opened)

After I put the screenshot on the desktop, 2 icons appeared -- an
"active" one, plus a duplicate which looks the same but also won't
respond when clicked.

You attention to this is very appreciated!

Same issue, Ubuntu 18.04.1, reinstalled about a week ago. Pressing the
lock shortcut "freezes" the screen - clicking it doesn't do anything,
but whatever I had open remains shown. Locking it "again" show to login
page, but the dock is visible and can be interacted with. Using 2

[Bug 1762952] Re: Alternative shortcut for layout switching Alt+Shift unexpectedly set by default

2018-11-18 Thread C. Daniel Mojoli B.
This bug made using emacs and IntelliJ Idea a nuisance. I found a simple
workaround.
0
=1=

You can verify how ALT and SHIFT are not being detected simultaneously by
running
$ xkbwatch

Notice how the blinky lights change for ALT and for SHIFT but not for
both at the same time.

=2=

$ setxkbmap -query
rules: evdev
model: pc105
layout: us,us,us
variant:,intl,
options:grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll

THIS IS THE PROBLEM

=3=

We will now unset ALT-SHIFT toggle.

$ setxkbmap -option -option grp_led:scroll
^^^
DELIBERATELY EMPTY

The first empty -option erases all options, the second one just carries
over an option we want to keep. Additional -option clauses can preserve
other preexisting options.

I can still change to next/previous input source with whatever is
configured in Settings/Keyboard/Typing

=4=

Do step =2= again and notice how ALT and SHIFT now play together
simultaneously.

I am now a happy Emacs and IntelliJ user. This is a single command
workaround.

[Bug 1799609] [NEW] App Grid "Spring" Animation Increases CPU Usage and Drops Frames

2018-10-23 Thread Luke B.
Public bug reported:

[This is a new report to reflect latest information, considering
previous issue report was submitted two cycles ago]

Opening the Applications Overview (App Grid) displays a janky animation.
Seemingly worse depending on number of application icons being
displayed, this issue will also instantly cause 2 CPU spikes. Differing
hardware configurations will see more/less pronounced results; however,
it is present to some extent on nearly every machine. It will happen
regardless of using the default XOrg or Wayland. This bug is worse on
lower-powered machines, with a 2014 Celeron CPU taking a 65-70% hit with
no other applications open.

Work is being done upstream to squash this very complex bug.

[Bug 1787863] [NEW] gnome-control-center occasionally fails to launch after multiple tries

2018-08-19 Thread Luke B.
Public bug reported:

Release: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Package Version: 1:3.28.2-0ubuntu0.18.04.1
Expected Behavior: Program should always launch upon request.
Problematic Behavior: Attempting to launch this program causes the shell to
display the loading indicator for an unusual amount of time, only to never
display the program.

Description: Upon launching this program through a terminal emulator, it
never opens and never displays any output. Passing the verbose (-v)
option with the program has the same result. When I launch it through
the GUI, the shell displays the spinning circle (loading indicator) for
an absurd amount of time. The program still does not open. This is a
fresh install, so I restarted my computer. When launched again, the
program opened and operated normally. However, upon closing the program
and opening it again, it does not open up. Task management tools only
show the process for a brief 3-5 seconds after requesting it to open and
then it disappears. To my knowledge, this bug does not affect any other
programs.

Workaround:
Entering the command
 killall gnome-control-center
allows it to open again upon next launches.

[Bug 1750197] Re: App drawer animation causes heavy CPU spikes in Wayland & Xorg

2018-07-17 Thread Luke B.
The upstream bugs related to this issue (found up top) have been
updated, as work is being done upstream.

** Description changed:

+ Upstream Issues:
+ https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/233

  Ubuntu Release: 17.10 and 18.04
- gnome-shell version: 3.26.2
- System Theme: CommuniTheme Beta
+ gnome-shell version: 3.28.2
+ System Theme: CommuniTheme

- Upon navigating through various areas of the system, GUI animations are
- very stuttery. This heavily affects the CPU usage of my device. For
- instance, opening the shell app drawer displays a very janky animation,
- and my CPU will spike to nearly 85% for each open/close. This happens
- regardless of using XOrg or Wayland; however Wayland appears to have an
- overall lower impact on resource usage. The CPU in this laptop isn't the
- greatest (being a 2014 Celeron), but this is noticeably more sluggish
- compared to previous releases like 16.04 and 16.10.
+ Opening the Applications Overview (App Grid) displays a very janky
+ animation, and my CPU will spike to nearly 90% for each open/close. This
+ happens regardless of using XOrg or Wayland; however Wayland appears to
+ have an overall higher impact on resource usage.

This same issue is still existent, but somewhat less noticeable on my
other i5-6400 (GTX 1050) machine. Also, emulating this release in a VM
with 2 CPUS and 4096MB of RAM renders it unresponsive for 3-5 seconds
  after opening/closing the app drawer.

Please do not hesitate to follow up with requests for more info, as I
  will be happy to help.

[Bug 1756508] Re: Gnome-shell CPU load dramatically high and stuck high with Eclipse

2018-04-01 Thread Alex B
Update.
I stopped using Eclipse on Ubuntu for now, but I'm just facing the same problem
again, now with Emacs 25.2.1. It appeared when I maximised the window and then
tried to reduce it.
gnome-shell CPU load reached 95% and after a while decreased down to 70%, but
it's not stable, sometime increases again to some peaks...
Seems not Eclipse related and seems Emacs too can trigger the same troubles.
Please tell me if you need further logs - not sure I can reuse the same
reference as above for apport-collect...

Hello,
I'm not expert at all, but is seems strange to me that the the workload keeps
high even in the (rare) event I could kill Eclipse. Would the sw-rendering
toolkit keep alive in the case Eclipse is killed ? Would be a bug in Eclipse ?

[Bug 1750197] Re: Activities overview causes heavy CPU spikes in Wayland & Xorg

2018-03-16 Thread Luke B.
What I did was profile gnome-shell using sysprof, and I found that file
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0.5502.0 uses 25.06% of CPU
time by itself. My guess is that it's called/utilized very frequently.
Attached is part of the output that should explain what I'm stating.

Let me know if any more information is necessary.

[Bug 1696305] Re: High CPU usage in gnome-shell just redrawing the screen (Firefox is running)

2018-03-14 Thread Alex B
Sorry I'm totally newbie here and with ubuntu, but I regularly face the same
problem with Ubuntu 17,10 in Virtualbox, when I run eclipse:
Version: Oxygen.2 Release (4.7.2)
Build id: 20171218-0600

Either this happens at startup of Eclipse, or after a while with no obvious
reason...
Seems this is unrecoverable. _in the case it happened at startup of Eclipse,
top reached up to 95% load for gmome-shell, and minimum was 70%. After 10
minutes, I gave up and restarted the machine.

Not sure how to help more for now :/

2018-02-18 Thread Luke B.
** Description changed:

- Ubuntu Release: 17.10
+ Ubuntu Release: 17.10 and 18.04
  gnome-shell version: 3.26.2
  System Theme: CommuniTheme Beta

Upon navigating through various areas of the system, GUI animations are
very stuttery. This heavily affects the CPU usage of my device. For
instance, opening the shell app drawer displays a very janky animation,
and my CPU will spike to nearly 85% for each open/close. This happens
regardless of using XOrg or Wayland; however Wayland appears to have an
overall lower impact on resource usage. The CPU in this laptop isn't the
greatest (being a 2014 Celeron), but this is noticeably more sluggish
compared to previous releases like 16.04 and 16.10.

Yes, it does. When changing the screen brightness in 17.10, the slider
wiggles around rapidly during a slight delay before the brightness
actually adjusts.

Upon further investigation, I can confirm that this issue only affects
the App Drawer. Minimizing and Maximizing windows, and etc are all
buttery smooth.

[Bug 1712798] Re: login return to login screen if APT::Install-Recommends=false

2017-10-25 Thread Thierry B.
After some trials and errors, I found the culprit. The is only ONE
package missing to open the session normally :

gsettings-ubuntu-schemas

So the conclusion is : if it is needed to properly open an X session
then it SHOULD be a true dependency from another package, not just a
recommended package.

Currently in artful gsettings-ubuntu-schemas is a dependency of the
following packages:

$ apt-cache rdepends gsettings-ubuntu-schemas
gsettings-ubuntu-schemas
Reverse Depends:
  unity
  unity-settings-daemon
  unity-control-center
  indicator-sound
  indicator-datetime
  gsettings-ubuntu-touch-schemas
  ubuntu-desktop

In this list no package is installed except ubuntu-desktop, and it is
the only package in this list that set gsettings-ubuntu-schemas as a
recommended packages.

So TMHO, gsettings-ubuntu-schemas SHOULD BE

[Bug 1577927] Re: After upgrade, can no longer set tab titles

2017-02-25 Thread Erik B. Andersen
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=740188 Seems to be the
related bug. It sounds like this was added back in (possibly)? So maybe
we'll see the feature come backup in Y or Z? (I know, having to upgrade
just to get the features you used to have is a pain.)

On 16.04 it seems to work to install mate-terminal, which is very
similar, but has the old functionality.

[Bug 1636514] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_tree_view_set_cursor_on_cell()

2016-12-09 Thread David B
I've had this bug when copying between a NFS mount and another NFS mount, or
NFS mount and USB drive. The copy completes, but crashes nautilus.
I've tested a few scenarios and it only seems to occur across remote mounted
file systems or usb mounted devices.

[Bug 1633162] Re: Files application throws an error 'Oops! Something went wrong' when clicked on 'Recents'

2016-10-25 Thread Fabio B
This bug affects me as well, anyway the "recent files" works inside
modal windows while opening/selecting files

2016-06-15 Thread D. H. B. Marcos
Public bug reported:

I'm using
 - Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64-bit
 - Intel® Core™ i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz × 4
 - Intel® Sandybridge Desktop
 - Linux gd5035L 4.4.0-24-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 8 19:27:37 UTC 2016
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
 - Nautilus 3.14.3
 - Nautilus 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu4

When I move, with mouse, and replace many file from PC to USB device of
a Linux gadget, same file with .goutputstream-X are created in USB
folder of Linux gadget. I did not expect these files.

However, these are a temporaries files of GOutputStream and are only for
a time. The context of these files is void.

Sorry by open new bug about this, but I don't found this bug associated
with Nautilus.

Re: [Bug 360970] Re: Multi-monitor - When using two displays with different vertical resolution, icons get lost on the shorter display

2016-04-26 Thread Michael B. Trausch
Of a sort. All the required data structures for proper implementation is
present to fix this bug. It's just a matter of knowing the size of N
rectangles, where N is the number of displays.

Chalk it up to upstreams desire to get away from a file-based desktop.
