[Bug 1077621] [NEW] Privacy settings in gnome-control-center should be password protected

2012-11-11 Thread Barneedhar
Public bug reported:

Currently, the privacy settings are not secured properly and allows
driveby users to get a glimpse of the user's privacy settings.

To make my point, if someone manages to view the list of folders that a
user doesn't want Zeitgeist to log, he would be able to find the exact
folders that the user does not want others to get an easy access.

Hence, I suggest the privacy settings are locked by default similar to
how the User Accounts work and the settings are only accessible if the
user inputs the password. This would provide added security to the
user's privacy settings.

[Bug 1027584] [NEW] Quicklist action for creating new document is incorrect

2012-07-22 Thread Barneedhar
Public bug reported:

Both the actions of gedit quicklists have the same command listed.

$ cat /usr/share/applications/gedit.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Name=gedit
GenericName=Text Editor
Comment=Edit text files
Keywords=Plaintext;Write;
Exec=gedit %U
Terminal=false
Type=Application

Name=Open a New Window
Exec=gedit --new-window

[Bug 819463] Re: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

This bug is still around. I got this crash when I was working with date
and time settings.

[Bug 819463] Re: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-09-26 Thread Barneedhar Vigneshwar
This is what I was doing.

I clicked on the date and time in the panel and then clicked on the
'Time and date settings'. And then I clicked on Clock and clicked
'Choose locations' and added some locations. And then a pop-up appeared
and said the gnome-control-center crashed with some description. I
couldn't use the time and date settings for a decent while and then it
started responding. .

There was a similar crash when I was fiddling with the Bluetooth settings.
The main problem with the crash is that it doesn't happen all the time. It is
just occasional and usually happens when I just log into the system.
