[Bug 1817286] Re: Some Media Keys (Not all) and custom keyboard shortcuts irregulary don't work after boot/reboot

2019-03-07 Thread Bastian Baum
Benjamin Berg (gnome-settings-daemon Maintainer) took a look at the bug
and found out it's because of budgies implementation of gsd-media-keys.
I can only reproduce this bug in ubuntu budgie enviornment, not in gnome
itself, so gnome-settings-daemon is not the root of this issue. See
upstream issue for details.

I will report this bug to budgie developers, this issue can be closed.

[Bug 1581713] Re: Ubuntu Software asks for an Ubuntu Single Sign-On account to install/remove a snap

2016-10-10 Thread Bastian Lembke
You also can't install snap packages with gnome software. I have a valid
Ubuntu One Account but I always get a "password or username invalid"
message when I try to log in (needed for installation)

But maybe that is not quit the right place here? I'm relative new to bug
reporting on launchpad.

[Bug 1503718] Re: control-center, wacom-tablet: Calibration window is unresponsive

2015-11-06 Thread Bastian Lembke
Hi

I had the same problem. Couldn't assign my Wacom Intous 5 express keys.
I found a solution online. I changed in the d-conf editor "org.gnome
.settings-daemon.plugins.gsdwacom" the priority from 0 to 20. That
fixed it for me after a reboot.

Hope this is helpful.

[Bug 185483] Re: Nautilus hangs on login

2008-10-28 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Hm. I think I got this situation now.

Nautilus doesn't start, even if I kill it away and it's relaunched.
Unfortunately nautilus -c doesn't yield anything useful and starting
from command-line doesn't do anything but hang as well...

Please consider re-opening this bug with a high priority, as everything
nautilus related doesn't work anymore. Feel free to ask me for issuing
commands, I'll be happy to provide more information.

[Bug 195774] [NEW] GDM login mask changed to wrong design

2008-02-26 Thread Bastian Becker
Public bug reported:

If you choose and install a login window (I mean a different login mask
/ design) first time, he often switch from the new selected to Circles
GNOME (the blue one with a sunflower and Face Browser) and Happy-Gnome.
He also activate the option Theme: Random selected.

This Bug appears only (and not always!) if you click on Close and
doesn't appear while activating or installing the new login mask. It
would be fine if some people can try to install a new GDM login mask
(e.g. from www.gnome-look.org) and can confirm this bug.

Workaround:
1) Download a GDM login mask (e.g. www.gnome-look.org)
2) Open System - Configuration (?) - Login window
3) Click on the Local tab - then click Add and choose the GDM mask you've
downloaded before
4) Activate it and then click on Close and logout.

This bug is not resolved. I get it now on Gutsy with the latest updates

[Bug 103203] Too many quota warning messages in evolution

2007-04-05 Thread Bastian
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When I used 85% of the quota on my IMAP, Evolution popped up a quota warning
window every time it synchronised (which is every 1 min for me). New warning
windows are opened even if the previous ones are still there, which I all had
to click away one by one. I have not found any configuration option to disable
the quota warning or set another threshold. I had to delete messages to not use
more than 85% of my quota to make Evolution usable again. Thus, I suggest:

1. Make it possible to set the quota warning threshold.
2. Make it possible to disable the quota warning altogether.
3. Do not open a new warning window if there is still one open for the same
mailbox.

I originally reported this bug to upstream evolution here:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349542
They said this is Redhat extension, but I am experiencing this under Ubuntu
(Edgy).

[Bug 103203] Re: Too many quota warning messages in evolution

2007-04-05 Thread Bastian
This happes with a SLOX (Suse Linux Open Exchange) server. I don't see
any configuration options wrt. quota warnings there. As mentioned, I
first reported this upstream and was told that it is a RedHat extension.
I also asked the admins of the SLOX server, but they said this must be
client-side. Of course, if you know that it's definately upstream or
server-side, I will re-open the upstream bug report (because even if it
is server-side, Evolution should spare the user the hassle IMO).

Just for clarification: I meant I see no configuration options for quota
warnings on SLOX as a user, as I don't have admin access there.

[Bug 59244] Re: gnome-session logout hang with a composite manager

2006-09-21 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Hey Sebastien,

it would be nice to have it included even though it's caused by universe
packages. I haven't used compositing since compiz was unveiled, for I
have always been having trouble logging out when using compositing - at
least since breezy :-).

I think, if it is included, you guys will have another ton of testers of
compositing already within edgy, since a lot more people would install
and keep using compositing then. I guess this would benefit the
development of edgy+1 as well and so in the longer term the stability of
edgy+1.

Anyway, keep up the good work, Sebastien and Guillaume, thanks for
researching cause and patch for the problem!

Bastian

[Bug 59244] Re: gnome-session logout hang with a composite manager

2006-09-21 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Is preventing the fading effect the same as preventing the grab/ungrab
stuff? If not, I think introducing this new variable is the most
feasible short-term solution. For the long term, I agree, a cleaner
approach (like the observer or command patterns) would be preferable.
