[Bug 292985] [NEW] Places menu fails to open folders
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel This concerns Ubuntu 8.10. Selecting any of the folders in the Places Menu of the Gnome panel has no effect. Selecting Computer in Places brings up the file browser with Location computer:///, but all else fails (Home Folder, Desktop, Documents, Music, Pictures, Video). Also Places does not show up in the Edit Menus view of the menus. The only way I can currently launch a file browser is by directly clicking on a folder on the desktop. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Places menu fails to open folders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292985 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

So far it is looking good, but I have only tried it for a couple of minutes... [Bug 150959] Re: epiphany resizes its window
I think I have a similar problem with all applications: they don't maximize to the full screen, only to a part of the screen. Occasionally (OK, frequently), they resize themselves, either they snap to the real fullscreen, or they snap back from the fullscreen to the partial fullscreen. It happens for example to Firefox, Thunderbird, Eclipse, even the screensaver preview showed only on the partial screen. It seems Gnome is somehow confused about the size of the screen. I have an external monitor attached to my notebook. The external monitor is 1920x1200 pixels, the notebook is 1280x768 pixels. I don't care what is shown on the notebook monitor, but perhaps Gnome sometimes uses the notebook resolution for fullscreen? Exact hardware: Dell Latitude X1, Intel modesetting driver, external monitor Dell 2405FPW. -- epiphany resizes its window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150959 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
