[Bug 114885] Re: Notifications won't work. Error After Logout/In again Ubuntu 7.04
Same problem here (plus drivemount applet do not appear when notifications are not working). Between logins, if I switch to VT and log with my user, I can see 2 processes remaining from my last gdm session : bonobo-activation-server and evolution-data-server If I kill evolution-data-server, then bonobo-activation-server stops and notifications work again in next gdm login. If I do not kill those processes, notifications do not work in next gdm login. -- Notifications won't work. [Bug 110933] "Socket credentials not supported on this OS" when trying to connect to gnome-keyring-daemon
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-keyring When tying to connect to gutsy's gnome-keyring-daemon (0.8.1-2), either from gnome-keyring-manager or from nm-applet, I get a "Socket credentials not supported on this OS" error. I've tracked it down to a miscompiling caused by the current buggy linux-libc-dev (2.6.22-1.3) : the file /usr/include/asm-i386/socket.h is not included from /usr/include/asm/socket.h, so the SO_PEERCRED constant is not defined. The fix should be a rebuild when a fixed linux-libc-dev will be available. ** Affects: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- "Socket credentials not supported on this OS" when trying to connect to gnome-keyring-daemon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110933 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-keyring in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 9252 *** Yes, this is still a problem. I'm using whatever version it is you're calling LTS. No, this is not a duplicate of bug #9252. In 9252 the remote owner (root) is listed as the local user (mary). In this the remote owner is shown as 695 (the correct uid of the logged-in user on the server). My user id locally is 1000. The "You are not the owner..." message is displayed and the permissions boxes are all greyed out. --Cedric -- nautilus can not change permissions in ssh session https://launchpad.net/bugs/48382 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 48382] nautilus can not change permissions in ssh session
Public bug reported: When I attempt to change properties on a file I copied to my server with ssh in nautilus all the controls are greyed out and the message: You are not the owner, so you can not change these permissions. Is displayed. The user used to log into ssh is indeed the owner of the file. Perhaps it is comparing the user id to the user id of the local user, not the one it used to log into the server as. This worked correctly in 5.10. I just switched to Flight X (whatever was May 31st). Also if I log into a terminal and change the permissions, and then copy the file again and overwrite the permissions are reset. This might be related (deletes, writes, believes it can't set permissions?). This bug isn't a local security issue, but it is certainly a real security issue. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Needs Info -- nautilus can not change permissions in ssh session https://launchpad.net/bugs/48382 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
