[Bug 2059847] Re: Input lag in native terminal on Nvidia desktops with X11
Same issue, I've noticed something very strange. If the below lines are commented out, the lag takes a few minutes to kick in (vs immediately when not commented out). edit /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/61-gdm.rules comment out the 2 lines: RUN+="/usr/libexec/gdm-runtime-config set daemon PreferredDisplayServer xorg" RUN+="/usr/libexec/gdm-runtime-config set daemon WaylandEnable false" As a side note, Wayland does not well work for me, however, /etc/gdm3/custom.conf forces x11. i.e. echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE x11 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2059847 Title: Input lag in native terminal on Nvidia desktops with X11 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/2059847/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1706476] Re: Mysterious shadow around window when check marking an option box inside of window
Daniel, I know it's been some time since we've commented on this and I just wanted to come back and comment again about the status of all of this. This graphical issue is still occurring and like you, it happens when I resize the window with the cursor (click/hold/drag to desired size). I recently started Chromium to narrow down if it's a broad issue (such as a CPU/GPU issue) or just program issue. Chromium doesn't exhibit this odd behavior so I'm feeling confident that my theory that Firefox uses code that doesn't quite agree with Wayland or my hardware could be the root cause. I opened all of the apps in settings and those are fine. No glitches at all. The soft shadows those windows have around them are normal and don't look like black boxes surrounding the windows that I showed you and they're always there. I've opened all of my programs/apps and nothing happens with them. They all seem normal. [Bug 983291] Re: Screen Rotation options only Counterclockwise Clockwise
I have the same problem on an Ubuntu Triple EEE PC netbook. By running xandr using the command shown in the third message of this thread, I was able to get a resolution of sorts: xrandr --output LVDS --auto --output VGA1 --auto --same-as LVDS --rotate normal However the interface is not working right. For instance, the menu options on applications have disappeared, and I'm getting mirrored displays, even though I don't want that option, and there seems to be no way to fix that problem. In particular, the option to turn off display mirroring is not available in the Display application, and I have no idea how to use xrandr other than to paste in the text shown above. I agree with the others who think that Low is a bad rating for this problem. I like Linux and I'm experienced with computers, so I will forage on. However, I know the average user well enough to know that this problem alone would turn them off to Ubuntu. [Bug 1002788] Re: Unable to access file or folder when clicking
I've figured out what triggers the behaviour, it happens whenever we use the touchscreen. Best short term solution is to disable the touchscreen. To do this on Ubuntu 12.04 do the following: 1. To determine the device name look at instructions here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=160 2. Create a file in your home directory called .xsessionrc 3. Add the following line to the file: xinput set-prop 'Quanta OpticalTouchScreen' 'Device Enabled' 0 Be aware that 'Quanta OpticalTouchScreen' is specific to my machine. You will need to enter your device name, acquired by 4. save, close and restart -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002788 Title: Unable to access file or folder when clicking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1002788/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 863258] [NEW] Indicators on the top right of the panel are often obscured or out of place on login
Public bug reported: Release: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS gnome-panel version: 1:2.30.2-0ubuntu0.2 When I log into a new user session on my laptop, I expect that the indicators in gnome-panel on the top right are: 1) displayed clearly and without obstruction and 2) displayed in the same position as when I logged out last What actually happens is rather random (possibly related to the speed I login from gdm when my laptop boots). Occasionally, when I log in, the indicators in the top left are both obscured (either by another indicator, or an invisible object), and out of position. Re-organising their position does not fix the fact that they are obscured. Crucially, logging out then back in again will always fix the problem. [Bug 845915] [NEW] All Settings is confusing
Public bug reported: When searching for a gnome setting, I'll generally use the unity dash. For example, I'll type keyboard and hit enter. This brings me directly to the keyboard settings. When the setting I'm looking for isn't there, I see a button labeled All Settings that taunts me into clicking it. What I expect: context. I was looking for all available keyboard settings. What happened: I'm back at the list of all config possibilities, and have to find keyboard again to continue my search within the existing tabs in keyboard settings. Suggestion: It should really be more like navigation. Even though I landed directly at keyboard settings, the top menu (where All Settings currently is) should illustrate that I'm in a sub-section of the control center. hamish: Perhaps you should read what I really wrote above. This bug is in GDM, which may affect each distribution. [Bug 814060] Re: shares-admin crashed with signal 5 in g_option_context_parse()
Actually, it can be reproduced at any time on a fresh install by attempting to open Menu - System - Users and Groups. Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.
