[Bug 192508] Re: mouse keys turns on randomly

2009-05-20 Thread Chris Roddy
setting /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/plugins/a11y-keyboard/active to
false does not seem to affect the shift+numlock hotkey for mouse keys in
any way, even after logging out and logging back in. prior discussion
indicates that this is part of the X server and cannot be disabled.

[Bug 278489] Re: vinagre local mouse pointer disappears

2009-02-27 Thread Chris Roddy
the remote cursor is hideously slow, and on top of that it's not even
the right remote cursor (for whatever reason it's white instead of my
chosen DMZ Black).

i don't care about the remote cursor, but hiding the local cursor is
extremely user-hostile and makes me about 1/4 as productive when i am
connecting to a VNC server.

[Bug 215283] [NEW] rhythmbox restarts after exit

2008-04-10 Thread Chris Roddy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I first filed this as a question, as I am only able to reproduce it on
one of my two Ubuntu systems. I am using version 0.11.5-0ubuntu2.

When I exit Rhythmbox, it restarts itself (or something else restarts
it) immediately, with a new process id. It does respond to SIGTERM
however, and does not respawn itself after being terminated. pstree
shows it as a child process of init, which doesn't tell me much.

I can reproduce this behavior regardless of how I start Rhythmbox. It
still restarts itself at exit if I start it from the GNOME Applications
menu, or simply running rhythmbox from a terminal. The new process is
not attached to the old controlling terminal in the latter case.

I can reproduce this behavior regardless of how I exit Rhythmbox. It
still restarts itself if I exit by selecting Music - Quit from the menu
bar, close the main window, or select Quit from the notification area
icon.

It does not appear to be in my GNOME session at all. When it is running,
it appears in gnome-session-properties as style Normal, and if I
remove it, it simply starts itself again.

I am using a fully updated Hardy beta system. I cannot reproduce this
problem at all on my other Hardy system. This problem first appeared a
couple of weeks ago; I had already upgraded from Gutsy and I'd used
Rhythmbox a great deal before this issue appeared.

[Bug 204566] Re: Rhythmbox keeps trying to install codecs

2008-03-22 Thread Chris Roddy
additionally this error is very annoying for those of us that store
things in our music libraries that are in codecs that are unsupportable
at the moment. it's the right place to keep those music files, but the
codec search is never going to succeed. at the least there ought to be a
way to suppress this permanently.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

The Last.fm plugin for Rhythmbox does not appear to submit information
to the Audioscrobbler web services site for songs played from a remote
