[Bug 312379] [NEW] Whacked out battery readings actually shutting laptop down
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Running 8.04 on a Lenovo 3000 n100 laptop. I noticed that my battery life was getting worse and worse a while ago--I used to be able to get almost 3 hours, and at one point could only manage 30 minutes. Naturally, I got a new battery and was shocked that it was still only giving me 30 minutes! Or so it said...turns out, if I let the laptop run through those 30 minutes, the power manager would magically realize that there was more juice and readjust its calculations without shutting down or anything. I was left with wonky readings but a functional battery life, so I didn't complain. The whole thing looked somewhat like this: http://twitpic.com/xurf Today, however, things have changed. My laptop has been plugged in for the last n hours, and it refuses to get more than 27 minutes of charge in it. The worst part is that if I unplug it, it actually freaks out and tells me it's critically low on batteries and shuts down. I seriously doubt that my battery got really messed up in the last 24 hours, so I have no idea what's going on. http://twitpic.com/xus6 Help? ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Whacked out battery readings actually shutting laptop down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 128620] Re: maximize/minimize unresponsive
It's pretty arbitrary, actually. It frequently happens after I maximize a window, but again it happens to some windows and not others. I frequently trigger it when opening up lots of windows in GIMP while I'm editing my photos. The next time it's happening, is there something I can do to capture the state of my machine? [Bug 128620] maximize/minimize unresponsive
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Sometimes when I click minimize/maximize/close on my windows, there's no rollover color change and instead of doing the action, the window just gets sent back, often causing me to accidentally close another application that was behind it.
