Re: [Bug 436936] Re: gdm upstart job checks /proc/cmdline for single user mode, won't dtrt on post-boot runlevel change

2009-10-14 Thread Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker
Gary Bilkus ubu...@gary.bilkus.com writes:

Even in the case where you don't want gdm to run ( e.g. passing text
in the kernel parameters ) the current logic is still inelegant as the
respawn means that the 'exit 0' statement causes the script to run
multiple times before being stopped as spawning too fast. The end
behaviour may be as intended, but.

The kernel command line should only affect the behaviour on initial
startup. It should always be possible to manually start gdm later.

[Bug 164057] Re: problem with keyboard layout swiching

2008-06-03 Thread Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker
Additional information: this bug does not affect all the layout
switching options. With grps:shifts_toggle it cycles all the way
through as expected.

[Bug 164057] Re: problem with keyboard layout swiching

2008-03-18 Thread Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker
I'm seeing a slight variation on this in Hardy: I can't swtich away from
the first configured layout using the keyboard shortcut. If I click the
keyboard indicator applet to switch to the second layout, cycling
further through the list using the keyboard shortcut works fine until I
reach the first layout again (tested with two, three and four layouts).

My XKB rules are as follows:

_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = xorg, pc105, gb,no,fi,is, ,,
ctrl:nocaps,grp:alts_toggle

[Bug 174512] Re: [network-admin] UI file not found

2007-12-12 Thread Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker
This is a minimal patch to fix the bug. I think the Apply button should
be after the other buttons, like it used to be, but this patch doesn't
do that.

[Bug 95368] Re: (feisty) unmounting a device icon on desktop gives an error dialog

2007-04-09 Thread Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker
This is caused by stale entries in /media/.hal-mtab confusing
/usr/lib/hal/hal-storage-unmount. It calls umount(8) with the device
name, but when it tries to remove the directory it uses the directory
name in the first entry matching the device name, which fails. The
directory is later removed by /usr/lib/hal/hal-storage-cleanup-
mountpoint, which for some reason manages to find the right entry in
/media/.hal-mtab.

[Bug 95368] Re: (feisty) unmounting a device icon on desktop gives an error dialog

2007-04-09 Thread Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker
Here's a patch that fixes it for this case, by making sure the mount
point in /media/.hal-mtab matches the one in the LibHalVolume object.

This only works if libhal-storage can get the volume from the UDI, but
that seems to be the case when using gnome-unmount.
