Re: [Bug 436936] Re: gdm upstart job checks /proc/cmdline for single user mode, won't dtrt on post-boot runlevel change
Gary Bilkus ubu...@gary.bilkus.com writes: Even in the case where you don't want gdm to run ( e.g. passing text in the kernel parameters ) the current logic is still inelegant as the respawn means that the 'exit 0' statement causes the script to run multiple times before being stopped as spawning too fast. The end behaviour may be as intended, but. The kernel command line should only affect the behaviour on initial startup. It should always be possible to manually start gdm later. -- ilmari A disappointingly low fraction of the human race is, at any given time, on fire. - Stig Sandbeck Mathisen -- gdm upstart job checks /proc/cmdline for single user mode, won't dtrt on post-boot runlevel change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/436936 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 164057] Re: problem with keyboard layout swiching
Additional information: this bug does not affect all the layout switching options. [Bug 164057] Re: problem with keyboard layout swiching
I'm seeing a slight variation on this in Hardy: I can't swtich away from the first configured layout using the keyboard shortcut. If I click the keyboard indicator applet to switch to the second layout, cycling further through the list using the keyboard shortcut works fine until I reach the first layout again (tested with two, three and four layouts). [Bug 174512] Re: [network-admin] UI file not found
This is a minimal patch to fix the bug. I think the Apply button should be after the other buttons, like it used to be, but this patch doesn't do that. ** Attachment added: Fix Apply Location patch http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10857266/network-admin-ui.diff -- [network-admin] UI file not found https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174512 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 95368] Re: (feisty) unmounting a device icon on desktop gives an error dialog
This is caused by stale entries in /media/.hal-mtab confusing /usr/lib/hal/hal-storage-unmount. It calls umount(8) with the device name, but when it tries to remove the directory it uses the directory name in the first entry matching the device name, which fails. The directory is later removed by /usr/lib/hal/hal-storage-cleanup- mountpoint, which for some reason manages to find the right entry in /media/.hal-mtab. ** Changed in: hal (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: nautilus = hal Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- (feisty) unmounting a device icon on desktop gives an error dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95368 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 95368] Re: (feisty) unmounting a device icon on desktop gives an error dialog
Here's a patch that fixes it for this case, by making sure the mount point in /media/.hal-mtab matches the one in the LibHalVolume object. This only works if libhal-storage can get the volume from the UDI, but that seems to be the case when using gnome-unmount. ** Attachment added: Skip stale entries in /media/.hal-mtab http://librarian.launchpad.net/7223911/68-fix-umount-stale-hal-mtab.patch -- (feisty) unmounting a device icon on desktop gives an error dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95368 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
