[Bug 546183] Re: Rhythmbox does not transcode to mp3 or explain why
This bug already contains the steps to reproduce. Any mp3 compatible mp3 player is required. Try dragging an ogg vorbis file onto it and rhythmbox will fail to transcode it. It will however, give no error. It will simply do nothing. Instead it should prompt the user to install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly- multiverse ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Confirmed -- Rhythmbox does not transcode to mp3 or explain why https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 546183] [NEW] Rhythmbox does not transcode to mp3 or explain why
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I have an mp3 player (Nokia XpressMusic 5800) with the following .is_audio_player file: audio_folders=Music/ folder_depth=2 output_formats=audio/mpeg When dragging ogg vorbis files to it in Rhythmbox nothing happens unless gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse is installed. Instead it should present the user with a similar dialogue to that presented when the user tries to play an mp3 file for the first time on a fresh install.
