[Bug 1601971] Re: update fails, "AppStream cache update failed."
An strace shows the following: rename("/var/cache/app-info/xapian/default", "/var/cache/app- info/xapian/default_old") = -1 EXDEV (Invalid cross-device link) Doing "sudo mv /var/cache/app-info/xapian/default /var/cache/app- info/xapian/default_old" followed by "sudo mv /var/cache/app- info/xapian/default_old /var/cache/app-info/xapian/default" makes it work thereafter. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to appstream in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1601971 Title: update fails, "AppStream cache update failed." [Bug 187335] Re: Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate
Fresh install of 8.04.1, and I randomly see this error without any remote anything. [Bug 229672] [NEW] g-p-m requires twiddling in gconf-editor to for cpufreq to be operable on some machines
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager The default cpufreq policy for gnome-power-manager (8.04) in gconf is ondemand for both AC and battery, even on machines where the cpufreq driver does not support the ondemand governor. The GUI option to change the policy is missing, as if cpufreq were not supported at all. On login, g-p-m tries to change the governor to ondemand anyway, causing the performance governor to be used. Once both policies are changed from ondemand to nothing in gconf-editor, the patch that fixes Bug #229027 makes frequency scaling work correctly. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- g-p-m requires twiddling in gconf-editor to for cpufreq to be operable on some machines https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
