[Bug 1243532] Re: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work until logout
I have created a new bug report for the issue on Cinnamon (bug #1882375) since it is likely cinnamon-specific und unrelated to this bug; cinnamon uses cinnamon-settings-daemon instead of gnome-settings-daemon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1243532 Title: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work until logout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1243532/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1882375] [NEW] Cinnamon custom keyboard shortcuts don't work until logout
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Release:20.04 cinnamon: 4.4.8-4 cinnamon-settings-daemon: 4.4.0-3 Steps to Reproduce: - on Cinnamon desktop, run cinnamon-settings - go to Keyboard > Shortcuts > Custom Shortcuts - add a custom shortcut, or edit the command or shortcut of an existing custom shortcut Expected behavior: the shortcut should become active immediately Actual behavior: the shortcut does not work until you log out and log in again This seems similar to bug #1243532, but I'm reporting this as a new bug now because it is cinnamon-specific. Other shortcuts (e.g. Close Window) are updated immediately, this only affects custom shortcuts. I think this bug appeared in 20.04. ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1882375 Title: Cinnamon custom keyboard shortcuts don't work until logout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1882375/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 345850] [NEW] Poor display quality/anti-aliasing with PDFs containing 1-bit images
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince Some scanned documents that were scanned with 1-bit (black and white) color depth into a PDF file are hardly readable in Evince unless considerably zoomed. [Bug 217941] Re: Rounded corners for some apps on maximised windows mean you close the app behind by mistake!
I can confirm this in Intrepid, I was about to report it myself. This is especially annoying when you resize non-maximized windows to fill the whole screen (for example as a workaround for bug #344144). These windows appear similar to maximized windows except for the tiny rounded corners, but trying to close them the usual way will result in another window being closed. -- Rounded corners for some apps on maximised windows mean you close the app behind by mistake! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217941 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 110764] Lock icons hide file icons in List view
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus The lock icon displayed on top of icons of read-only files and folders covers the complete icon in the list view. This makes it impossible to distinguish between file types and even between files and folders by the icon, you just see a big lock icon for any read-only object. It is the same at any zoom level (the lock scales with the icon) or desktop theme (changes just the picture, not its size) Nautilus 2.18.1 on Feisty. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Lock icons hide file icons in List view https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110764 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 109926] Re: past file on nautilus not possible
I agree that this lack of white area in the list view is annoying. If there are enough files to fill the window, it it not possible to get the usual folder context menu. Of course, all its items (like Paste, Create folder, Properties (of the _folder_), Open in Terminal) can be found somewhere else in the menu, but the point is that they are not where they use to be. Moreover, it is a problem when drag-and-dropping into a folder full of subfolders, because the dropped file will end up in one of the subfolders. This could keep users from using drag-and-drop at all even without subfolders, because they may expect some unintended action when dropping something on a file. It would be more intuitive if just the first column or (better) only the icon and the filename were associated with a file for its context menus and drop target, and everything else as white area with the containing folder. This is also how the Windows XP Explorer works, BTW. -- past file on nautilus not possible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109926 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 71751] Re: Title bar and history bar inconsistency with actual folder view
I can confirm this bug on a fresh feisty installation on an Athlon 64 3200+ (but i386 installation) system that is otherwise fast enough. Although I have to press the key very quickly. It happens with real directories anywhere on a normal ext3 file system, both using icon and list view. In addition to the window title bar and the location bar, also the status bar, the toolbar (go-up button disabled on root directory), and the side pane (information and tree view) reflect the state of having gone up only one level when the main view has gone up two. I can reproduce this not only by using the backspace key, but also using the Alt+up shortcut or the go-up button on the toolbar. -- Title bar and history bar inconsistency with actual folder view https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/71751 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 65708] Re: Fonts not shown in dialogs window
I upgraded from dapper to edgy a while ago. elixxir's workaround didn't work here, apparently the helvetica font is broken: when I run xfontsel and select helvetica (or any other adobe font), the preview area of the xfontsel window is not drawn at all (the previously selected font or parts of overlapping windows remain).
