[Bug 885324]

2013-05-14 Thread Detlef
(In reply to comment #15)
I send a patch to add support for lcms2 with a fallback to lcms v1:
 http://source.winehq.org/patches/data/96110

BUG: The patch was still using the includes for lcms v1
To fix compilation while using lcms2.h,
 add a #include icc34.h after the #include lcms2.h
(icc34.h comes with the liblcms v1 dev package)

I prepare a better patch in the near future.

[Bug 1044722] [NEW] Passwords and Encryption Keys Manual is outdated

2012-09-01 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

seahorse Help Contents F1 Passwords and Encryption Keys Manual is outdated.

For example Figure 1 shows the Passswords and Encryption keys manual program
window having 4 tabs. This is not true. In Ubuntu 12.04.1 and even in Ubuntu
10.04.4 the program window has only 3 tabs, and there are no First time
options on it.

I expect an up-to-date manual and not a manual that is more than 2 years
old and outdated.

[Bug 912501] [NEW] Banshee uses a delicate OGG decoder

[Bug 736166] [NEW] Pressing Abbrechen (=Cancel) does not cancel. Rather, the program keeps repeating to show the dialog every 30 mins

2011-03-16 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Empathy pops up a dialog window reporting: Diese Verbindung ist nicht
vertrauenswürdig. Möchten Sie dennoch fortfahren? Die vom Chat-Server
{jabber.ccc.de} gelieferte Identität kann nicht geprüft werden. Das Zertifikat
ist selbst signiert. Abbrechen Fortfahren
I call this a regression: Ubuntu 10.04 did not show this behaviour. The
programmer made a mistake in his logical thinking and implementation.

button.

[Bug 700563] [NEW] Disk Mounter 2.30.0 shows one partition as (mounted) and at the same time as (not mounted)

2011-01-08 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Disk Mounter 2.30.0 shows one partition of my single built-in hard disk with
two icons. One Disk Mounter icon shows it as (mounted) and at the same time a
second Disk Mounter icon shows it as (not mounted).
'~$ mount' shows it as mounted.
I expect that Disk Mounter shows only one icon for one partition. I expect that
Disk Mounter shows the correct mounting state of a partition.

[Bug 296867] Re: empathy needs to support OTR encryption

2010-08-05 Thread Detlef Lechner
http://live.gnome.org/Empathy/FAQ#Will_Empathy_have_OTR_.28.22Off_The_Record.22.29_support.3F:
Will Empathy have OTR (Off The Record) support?

We think that the correct approach to secure end-to-end communications
is to support it natively in the protocol. There is ongoing work on
standardising secure end-to-end messaging in Jingle (using XTLS and
Jingle) and we plan to support this in the future (current API sketch).

We don't think that layering encrypted messaging on top of protocols
that don't support it is very useful, since such extensions won't, by
definition, work in native protocol clients, and any clients that do go
out of their way to support encrypted messaging might as well do so
using a native protocol.

Nevertheless there is a bug report talking about OTR support, and a
comment dated October 2009 is talking about API sketches for encrypted
channels and OTR.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=545347#c12 (please do not
submit me too comment in the bug report, thanks).

This error persists up to now (2010-05-18).

It is bad program usabilty to provide a menu option by default and tell users
that This feature cannot be enabled because the required packages are not
installed on your system.
Rather, the Ubuntu maintainers should make sure that Ubuntu provides the
