[Bug 1870184] Re: Snap store not showing ubuntu repository apt apps inthe store
Don't see it as hit or miss, the version on the Ubuntu beta image only shows snaps. On an older install it has snap-store 20200401.4cde4f1 which shows both snaps and .deb's Refreshing the beta image install's snap-store from latest/stable: 20191114.a9948d5 to latest/beta: 20200403.d6b9c02 then allows the snap-store to show both snaps and .deb's. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-desktop in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870184 Title: Snap store not showing ubuntu repository apt apps inthe store To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snap-store/+bug/1870184/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1716857] Re: nvidia-drm.modeset=1 results in no monitors detected by Xorg
Being duped here with a more specific bug, i.e 19.10 optimus hardware No login to ubuntu session possible with gdm, lightdm is ok Maybe a few comments. This bug orig. suggests that one could actually login on optimus hardware with nvidia-drm.modeset=1 thru gdm. That was once the case, it no longer is in 19.10. The only session available is a wayland one because it falls back to Intel. As far as why users set nvidia-drm.modeset=1? I'd suggest the majority do so on optimus machines to be able to use nvidia without tearing. For the most part none have any interest in wayland even though wayland would solve tearing. Why?, because no (or virtually none) optimus machine has ever been able to use wayland & nvidia drivers. Not in the last couple of years, not now. While I don't have a desktop machine I do have a laptop with nvidia GPU only. In that case (19.04) with nvidia-drm.modeset=1 it presents and logs into a wayland session but llvmpipe only. It does work ok in a ubuntu session. Maybe I'll give it a try with 19.10 though on this machine there is no tearing so xorg is fine, currently any positives, if any, of wayland are outweighed by it's negatives. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1716857 Title: nvidia-drm.modeset=1 results in no monitors detected by Xorg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1716857/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1805444] Re: [nvidia] Fail to launch gnome-shell (Wayland) on Ubuntu with EGLDevice backend
Maybe I'm missing the point of this bug, if so sorry about that. The bug seems to be basically about being able to log into a wayland session while using nvidia drivers. Though the description has changed a time or two. So question could be simply rephrased - Does the fix released imply that nvidia should be working on 19.04 on all nvidia devices? It's stated above that - "mutter 3.30.2 in 18.10 & 19.04: * EGLDevice compiled and working * EGLStreams' new build deps are missing so not configured, but compiled in anyway by accident because the new build deps were weak, and it's working**" "** EGLStreams working means Wayland clients get full Nvidia acceleration but I thought it was broken for a while because that also includes 100% CPU use by [kworker/u16:3+events_unbound]. [Bug 1765353] Re: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in acquire_cb() from g_simple_async_result_complete()
Ok but then you'd need to add/address gnome-software, software- properties-gtk, synaptic, gnome-disk-utility, ect. as any & all of them will cause/experience the same issue, sans a segfault. As soon as 1 app that calls a pkexec auth dialog is canceled then no other app can use pkexec auth until gnome-shell is restarted. As mentioned this does not happen in prior version of gnome-shell. None of the other apps 'crash', they can however get an unresponsive window or in the case of gnome-software (ubuntu-software) it'll just endlessly show installing. There's half a dozen test cases to see this that don't involve g-c-c at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1765353 Title: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in acquire_cb() from g_simple_async_result_complete() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1765353/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1765353] Re: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in acquire_cb() from g_simple_async_result_complete()
Not sure why gnome-shell was removed as clearly that's were the issue is. G-c-c may be the only apt actually crashing but this affects any apt that calls a pkexec Auth dialog. Easy examples are software & updates > change something, cancel the auth dialog or synaptic > cancel on the auth.

[Bug 1725897] Re: Offers to install snaps that need the gnome-3-26-1604 snap & be connected to work
Well I'd consider it a bug (about not being installed) because gnome-system-monitor is already installed from the Ubuntu image. (the .deb version) For some reason Software doesn't 'see' it. Whether there are any other default installed apps that don't show in Software but the snap versions do I'd have to take a look. Ot. (sorta of) While most if not all of the gnome snaps are not 'needed' yet as same version is either installed or available as a .deb, you figure they should work. Installing 2.7.3-4 here also produces expected results so likely 18.04 will be better.. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #870399 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=870399 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1720624 Title: Ubuntu 17.10 blank CD or audio CD not detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lshw/+bug/1720624/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1716265] Re: Disabling screenlock has no effect
I believe *maybe* this isn't an issue any more, Fresh install, disabled auto lockscreen Let screen blank, woke up While it didn't go directly to Desktop it didn't go to a security lockscreen. Went to that lockscreen image?, then pulling up showed the desktop. As far as suspend, it always goes to the security lockscreen but maybe that's intended behavior.? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1716265 Title: Disabling screenlock has no effect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1716265/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Just to see tried current 17.10 to an image with lightdm rather than gdm3. [Bug 1719077] Re: Unable to find codecs to play videos
It's possible this is a totem or gst bug. What I currently see - 1. The app-install-data warning is longstanding, bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/packagekit/+bug/1716137 2. At least here 'easy-codec-install' works fine on supported local files 3. A text/html decoder missing usually refers to unsupported or unknown type 4. If one was to install gst libav, bad & ugly plugins the Guardian vids still won't work, same error about text/html Noting this isn't a fresh install from latest image I'm checking on.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1719077 Title: Unable to find codecs to play videos To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/packagekit/+bug/1719077/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
