[Bug 1205055] Re: Impossible to change column width of Nautilus in list view

2014-03-01 Thread Eddie B
Since I upgraded Ubuntu Studio from 13.04 to 13.10 (nautilus 3.8.2) I
have had the same problem as the first 2 posts here. After seeing the
post saying that re-sizing nautilus helps, I played around with that. I
noticed that the when re-sizing the zone I can't click on still has the
same distance from the left side of the window, but I can click on
Modified because the Modified column name has moved. Further
playing showed me that the problem only starts after I go to a folder
that displays a MIME Type column in Nautilus and then go to a folder
that does not display that column. And the dead spot that I can't click
on looks to be exactly where MIME Type column name was showing, which
is all of Modified and the left side of Owner up to the middle of
the O. So, this bug appears to be in the code that hides MIME Type
column.

If it is helpful, I get the MIME Type column when I view /tank which
is my ZFS mount point.

[Bug 620654] [NEW] Disconnected -- no reason specified when adding GTalk/Jabber account

2010-08-19 Thread Eddie Ringle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

When I try to add my google talk account to empathy (or add it as a
jabber account with the server settings set to google's server), it says
Disconnected -- no reason specified. The following was outputted to
stdout:

(empathy:6403): TelepathyBackend-WARNING **: tpf-persona-store.vala:818:
failed to add channel 'stored': Unable to complete this channel request, we're
disconnecting!

(empathy:6403): TelepathyBackend-WARNING **: tpf-persona-store.vala:818:
failed to add channel 'publish': Unable to complete this channel request, we're
disconnecting!

(empathy:6403): TelepathyBackend-WARNING **: tpf-persona-store.vala:818:
failed to add channel 'subscribe': Unable to complete this channel request,
we're disconnecting!

This renders empathy completely useless. And no, I haven't tried adding
an account using a different service (GTalk is pretty much the only one
I use nowadays).

[Bug 460068] [NEW] Unable to play DVD with Encryption

2009-10-24 Thread Eddie Toronto
Public bug reported:

Hi,
Fresh install of 9.10 beta. I've followed the instructions from
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs#Ubuntu 9.04 and
9.10 (i386, amd64)
installed libdvdread4 and ran the command sudo
/usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

Using Movie Player (as recommended in Synaptic description for libdvdread4),
the screen greys out.
Using VLC, I get the foolowing output:

Playback failure:
VLC cannot set the DVD's title. It possibly cannot decrypt the entire disc.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///dev/sr0'. Check the log for details.

I had it working in 9.04 so this would be a regression?

[Bug 452256] Re: eSATA storage devices do not automount whereas USB storage devices do.

2009-10-22 Thread Eddie Toronto
Hi,
I also experience this. My external drive is recognized by Ubuntu 9.10 when
used via USB. I use the eSATA interface and it is recognized in the BIOS, but
not in Ubuntu.

2009-10-15 Thread Eddie Padilla
Public bug reported:

Thanks for responding to my bug report, this isn't an epiphany porblem.
it also happens in firefox or just updating ubuntu . I found the bug
list in lunchpad in ubuntu tried the listed solution with no results.
I've only been using ubuntu for a few months although it was installed
last fall . I'm a very basic user mostly windows/enternet explorer. I
think what I'm giong to do is start over with the lates ubuntu version
from a cd. The erreor massage was as fallows: E: Msttcorefonts:

[Bug 176423] Nautilus corrupts file name with year last modified

2007-12-14 Thread Eddie
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Using Nautilus 2.20.0 in Gutsy and created FTP links to a W2K box.

Current year files are fine, but older files have their year prepended
to the file name eg 'Agata' becomes '2006 Agata'

I can't then open the folder or file as it doesn't exist.

On a different box, I have Dapper and Nautilus 2.14.3 and that is
absolutely fine - no year prepended and can open all files and folders
