[Bug 1255235] Re: time-admin help docs show the ability to show/select ntp internet time servers, but the app itself seems to have lost this ability.

2018-10-13 Thread Elbarbudo
Second screen capture : NO way to select time servers.

Either update the documentation or better, allow the choice of time
servers from the tool.

Why did this function disappear without notice?

4 years after, the bug is still here...
I just installed Linux Mint 19 Tara and the help /doc says it is possible to
change the time servers
'screen capture of documentation'
But the tool itself does not allow this modification:

I suppose this part was not intended in the Ubuntu MATE architecture.

Publication still completely broken on 15.10 after dist-upgrade.

Slight differences :
1- the ONLY choice is Piwigo and trying to "add an account" crashes shotwell

2- Even after enabling all the publications add-ons, Picasa does not
show in the "Publish" menu

[Bug 1516345] [NEW] Invalid characters in file name

2015-11-14 Thread Elbarbudo
Public bug reported:

Step 1 :

I got file names with invalid encoding (mainly from an Old Mac)
In nautilus, it is displayed as

Ch 03 _ judo-christianisme.DOC (codage non valide)

But an ls command displays :

Ch 03 _ jud?o-christianisme.DOC
(Without the "codage non valide" mention)

Step 2 :

In Nautilus, I renamed the file just by correcting the invalid character
:

The result is :
Ch 03 _ judéo-christianisme.DOC (codage non valide)

And the ls command issues :
Ch 03 _ judéo-christianisme.DOC (codage non valide)

So I had originally an invalid file without any mention of it in command
line, and I end with a correctly encoded filename with the mention
"codage non valide"

I wish a more consistent behaviour by not writing back the string " (codage non
valide)" to the file name after correction,
or by writing the string " (codage non valide)" to the file name on detection
of the invalid coding.

[Bug 411242] Re: Links to folders on unmounted partitions pretend they are broken

2015-06-09 Thread Elbarbudo
Still here in 15.04 !!!

The problem is very sensible in the case of USB keys:

When the key inserted is not the right one, the link to the USB file
appears as broken and the default action is delete the link which is
rather misleading.

At least broken link should have a special icon.

[Bug 1323520] Re: New Nautilus instance from Unity Launcher

2014-05-28 Thread Elbarbudo
Very strange : apparently, as far as the nautilus window points to a local
directory, it behavior is normal :
Minimize in the launcher and maximize to the original window.

By local, I mean the home subtree and disk

BUT when I open a mounted directory such as /media/patrice/Multimedia on
another disk, I get the bug.

Very strange : I did :

[Bug 1269052] Re: Properties window becomes unresponsive

2014-02-27 Thread Elbarbudo
Seems to be caused by an extension ...

When I shut shutdown all applets in the upper dock, I get NO FREEZE of
the window

I had dropbox, cryptkeeper, dropbox, transmission,

I started them one by one and made a test : it froze after transmission
startup.

Stopped transmission and dropbox, restarted nautilus : no freeze at first try,
freeze on second try.
Then no more freeze.

Started dropbox : no freeze.
Killed and restarted nautilus : no freeze.
Started transmission : no freeze again.

Can't say what happens. May be a race condition depending on the way
things are started

CR2 is fully supported by UFRAW (Installed and used )

CR2 seems natively supported by Shotwell.

[Bug 1269052] Re: La fenêtre ne répond plus

2014-01-14 Thread Elbarbudo
Sorry.
How I got the problem :
1- Open a photo folder with Nautilus
2- right click on a .cr2 photo (raw Canon photo)
   3- chose Properties
Result :
1- the properties windows pop up but in dead
No active buttons, no way to select text, no way to close it
2- Trying to close the properties window is ineffective
Closing the father window (Nautilus) get the answer Window not
responding / Force quit / wait

I attached a screen capture to the original post (Capture d'écran)

[Bug 1220581] [NEW] SAMBA copy/move hangs

2013-09-04 Thread Elbarbudo
Public bug reported:

I try to move / copy backup files stored on an Iomega personnal NAS.
Sometimes, it works, sometime it hangs but I have no idea of the cause :
- number of files ?
- size of files ?
- other?

I am not sure it's Nautilus, but that was automatically chosed by Apport

I think it's rather a gvfs bug
