[Bug 1741843] Re: caribou (gnome-shell osk): special characters not working
Hi Daniel, the characters appear fine in the OSK, it's when you press them that it's not typed into the app. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to caribou in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741843 Title: caribou (gnome-shell osk): special characters not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/caribou/+bug/1741843/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1741843] [NEW] caribou (gnome-shell osk): special characters not working
Public bug reported: I'm on Ubuntu 17.10 (fully updated, including Gnome-Shell). Hardware is a Lenovo X1 Carbon Laptop with Touchscreen. I've reproduced this issue on both Wayland and XOrg. I've reproduced this issue on the 17.10 live CD (Xorg) and on a fresh 17.10 (Wayland) install in VBox. Bug: Caribou/Gnome-Shell Wayland support for Caribou does not display the vast majority of special characters (the ones that you long press on vowels to get). Nor do the upside down question and exclamation marks work on it either. Nor do the Euro or Sterling signs work. This makes it impossible to use when writing in any other languages than English. 1) lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 17.10 Release:17.10 2) package version: caribou: Installed: 0.4.21-2 Candidate: 0.4.21-2 Version table: *** 0.4.21-2 500 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status gnome-shell: Installed: 3.26.2-0ubuntu0.1 Candidate: 3.26.2-0ubuntu0.1 Version table: *** 3.26.2-0ubuntu0.1 500 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.26.1-0ubuntu4 500 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/main amd64 Packages 3) What do I expect to happen: I expect that when I long press on e and get the popup and select ê, ë that these letter appear 4) they do not. nothing happens ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741843 Title: caribou (gnome-shell osk): special characters not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1741843/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1723857] Re: onscreen keyboard appears whenever i touch touchscreen
@Andrea Azzar, would it be in the realm of the possible to implement an option in caribou/gnome-shell where the people who still want to use it, can turn off the auto popup feature (the one where caribou pops up whenever an editable area is selected). Leave it to us to swipe the bottom of the screen to bring it up? If you implement this function, I think 3/4 of the people wanting to disable OSK will no longer have an issue with it as currently, it pops up at the slightest provocation and I think that's annoying alot of people. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1723857 Title: onscreen keyboard appears whenever i touch touchscreen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1723857/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1740963] [NEW] Ubuntu 17.10 - Clicking on Favorite in Nautilus results in Favorite being dragged
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 17.10 on X.Org (I will confirm later if this bug occurs in Wayland). I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon with a touchpad, trackpoint and touch screen. I have this on and off bug in Nautilus that occurs at least once a day (though sometimes it could be upwards of 50% of the time). Using the touchpad, I click on one of my favorites in Nautilus and even though I did a very light tap, the favorite goes into drag and drop mode. This is not related to my touchpad settings or drivers. I've gone as far as disabling my touchpad's drag and drop function and the bug still occurs even though I can't drag and drop anything else in the OS. This bug is not affected by the touchpad driver as it has materialized under both libinput and synaptics. The bug occurs even when I boot out of an Ubuntu live usb. Is there some kind of logs you would like me to put up on pastebin or some kind of troubleshooting you can recommend? ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740963 Title: Ubuntu 17.10 - Clicking on Favorite in Nautilus results in Favorite being dragged To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1740963/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
