[Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%

2020-09-22 Thread Felix Raynaud
Just a small contribution from my side: the bug is not fixed despite all
the latest updates. I'm having a Quadro K5200 with proprietary drivers
v440.100 on Ubuntu 20.04 and both fractional scaling (on one monitor)
and normal/fractional scaling on multiple monitors with different
scaling are broken.

I tried with the latest driver from the ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
repository, no help there. I confirm that scaling is working with the
nouveau driver, but this is not a solution for me since I need features
like CUDA, opencl or compatibility with VMWare 3D acceleration.

No luck with all 3 ways to set the scaling: Gnome control center, xrandr
or nvidia-settings. I cannot contribute to the fix itself, but if more
details on my configuration is needed, feel free to ask.

[Bug 1560286] Re: Evince displays pdf file fine, but prints colors inverted

2019-01-17 Thread felix
I guess its about embedded cmyk images. Can be inspected with

$ pdfimages /tmp/previewZTSTVZ.pdf -list
page num type width height color comp bpc enc interp object ID x-ppi
y-ppi size ratio

   1 0 image 818 750 cmyk4 8 jpeg no 7 0 155
155 183K 7.6%

A "process workaround" is to open the images in libreoffice draw and
print them from there, but obviously the underlying library should be
fixed.

[Bug 1777392] Re: atril prints cmyk PDF with inverted colors

2019-01-17 Thread felix
Same here, for documentation purposes, you can list the images embedded
in a pdf with

`pdfimages the_document.pdf -list`
.

It affects all pdf processing for me (even if printing the document to
file or opening it in gimp).

The only "process workaround" so far is to open the document in
libreoffice draw and print it from there :( .

[Bug 1778088] [NEW] DjVu Files cannot be opened

2018-06-21 Thread Felix Eckhofer
Public bug reported:

When trying to open a .djvu document, evince shows an error:

File type DjVu image (image/vnd.djvu) is not supported

Apparently, upstream has removed the image/vnd.djvu mimetype in an
effort to treat single-page .djvu files more like images
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=754467). The file in
question is however a multi-page, yet the mime-type is not the expected
"image/vnd.djvu+multipage":

  $ file book.djvu
  book.djvu: DjVu multiple page document
  $ file --mime-type book.djvu
  book.djvu: image/vnd.djvu

This happens on all bionic machines I have access to.

[Bug 1633206] [NEW] In ubuntu 16.10 nautilus shows the zfs harddrives in the main menu left column, but they are not accesible in this way.

2016-10-13 Thread Felix Moreno
Public bug reported:

This hardrives are part of a zfs volume and should not be seen, they
didn't in 16.04, so now when I open nautilus always there is in my case
18 harddrives that you can't do anything with because they belong to a
zfs drive should be nice to see my 3 zfs volumes there, but not the
18 hardrives... you can see in the image 6 named RAID20TB 6 names
RAID16TB and 6 named RAID24TB that are my 3 raidz2 zfs. Instead should
be or the 3 zfs volumes, or nothing.

They are by the way 18 luks drives and after that mounted in 3 zfs
volumes.

[Bug 1321823] Re: deault unity menu does not show with desktop

2014-06-16 Thread Felix Kay
** Description changed:

Description: The default menu panel for unity doesn not show when no
other program is highlighted. It should display something similar to the
Nautilus Menu. Problem did - if I remember right - also occur with my
  Precise Pangolin.

Reproduce: Minimize or close all active windows or hit show desktop
button. Move mouse to the very top to show standard menu.

  Additional information:
  - using standard global menu
  - only an optical (not an essential) issue
  - using Trusty right now

Just thought I might report this since it affected me for a longer time
now.As for me I consider it only a cosmetic issue.
+
+
+ UPDATE (16 Jun 2014): Related to #7692565 - Since this one refers to
+ Ubuntu 11.04 and Unity2D I don't know if this is helpful (Unity2d is
+ canceled in favor of 3D with 13.04). Yet one can find a bit of code in
+ the bug description which might be helpful.
+
+ Also I am not sure if the bug is assigned to the right package. The bug
+ might be a Compiz problem.

2014-04-23 Thread Felix Moreno
This bug is present in ubuntu 14.04 when upgrading from ubuntu 13.10,
the first time you enter in your gnome-flashback account it will show
unity, to fix it, you have to start the session in metacity mode and
then again in gnome-flashback gnome-panel mode.

[Bug 1164939] Re: Google Talk account in empathy refuses to sign in

2014-04-10 Thread Felix Haller
@ubuntudevelopers: Why are you introducing new features (e.g. Online
Sources) and switch over all the services (Empathy, worked fine before) and
once a bug (like this) appears, it is ignored?
Innovation is fine and desirable, but latest Ubuntu versions (even trusty - a
LTS!) are some kind of patchwork. There are several bugs that need to be fixed
or (more important) features that have to be considered for reverting.

I am now using pidgin, because I can't get empathy going. There is NO
chance.

And that's what I'm talking about. Bugs like these are real blockers!

Think about that: Who will buy an Ubuntu phone if Ubuntu is a name that
is connected to a buggy desktop system?

[Bug 1232299] Re: gnome-session-flashback with Compiz launches Unity

2013-10-30 Thread Felix Moreno
Hello, the bug is still present in ubuntu 13.10 updated.

It seems that is fixed for the first login of a created user using first
unity and then gnome-panel.

But if you create a user and directly log in using gnome-fallback with
effects the mixed unity and gnome-panel appears, like said Ryan probably
is the first time only scripts...

To fix it still what i used works:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/1180556

Just log off and log in using gnome-fallback without ffects, and the log
off and use it with efects and the desktop is ready to work, but i
should be fixed in ubuntu 13.10...

[Bug 1212845] [NEW] Software Updater does not show any details

2013-08-15 Thread Felix Kay
Public bug reported:

Every once in a while the software updater prompts in my 12.10
GNOME/MATE without showing anything in the fields Details of updates
and technical description. So there's no info at all although Ubuntu
wants to install some 100 KB of software (see attached screenshot). By
closing and restarting the Software Updater the problem vanishes
showing the complete installable software of some MBs with details and
technical description. Not reproducible. And - I think - not very
critical.

[Bug 1180556] [NEW] Ugrade gnome-panel from 12.10 to 13.04 problems

2013-05-15 Thread Felix Moreno
Public bug reported:

If you upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 the gnome pannel desktop gets cracy.
First you log in and a pseudo unity + gnome-panel desktop appears, the
gnome panel icon in the login is missing like a said in other bug
report.

To fix it you have to unloging from the desktop, choose the gnome-panel
login without effects. then unlog again, and the again log to gnome-
panel desktop and then you have a more or less working gnome-panel
desktop.

[Bug 848562] Re: gnome-shell lock screen does not display password prompt

2012-11-14 Thread Felix
Same here with only 1 Screen, my laptop lid.

About 50% of the time i try to login from lockscreen, the box disappears.
My workaround is to just close the lid again, wait 5 secs, reopen and voila!
the login area is back.
